Amazing! Can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s rich in historical vibes while having embrace certain aspects of the modern era. The menu is very much Southern Comfort food, but you can still find healthy and fresh options if you’re watching your waistline. i am not, contrary to my doctor’s pleas. So I order the fish and grits, which I was a little hesitant to get at first but the waitress explained that the grits weren’t loose. They prepare them kinda like a fried polenta. The whole thing is smothered in that pimento cheese sauce and well seasoned. They also top it with fresh pickled pico, it adds the right amount of acid/brightness to the whole thing! My friend got the meatloaf with mash potatoes and gravy. And a side salad… she must be better than me, LOL. I took a little bite and can vouch that the both the meatloaf and gravy are good enough to be from your grandma’s kitchen! Which as a girl growing up in rural Kansas is saying a lot. My grandma never made food from a packet and I think the same is true for Molly Pitcher’s kitchen staff. We ended up splitting a slice of one of the Cakes of the Day: Cherry Spiced Cake. It was EXCELLENT. Also I gave them my two cents of feed back that it would have been the best poke cake ever, which they said they make occasionally. Looks like I’ll have to come back. Next time I’ll have to get a cocktail too. They had several that intrigued me. And they seem to have excellent daily deals throughout the week. If you’re in the area, check this place out. If you’re local to Wilmington and haven’t been yet… What could you possible be doing that means you haven’t tried them yet?!?! Zero excuses! Get over here!!!

We have been here several times since our initial review and thought it was time for an update. Love, love, love this place. Very charming, southern style home cooked meal. Duck Bacon Wonton and Shrimp & Oyster App are to die for, honestly, we should have ordered these two apps and that is it, we were full. A+++++++. My wife got the Fried Dinner Combo, which is a lot of fried food and on top of the apps, it was too much. Just saying. It was all excellent. I did not mind, I picked off her plate……. I ordered the meatloaf and gravy. I did not give five stars as in my opinion, it was almost to the point of being burnt. Look at my pic. I am not sure how they prepare it, maybe cook it before hand - when ordered, they sear it?????? I dunno, but it was very close to being over-seared, and had a slight burnt after-taste, which made the meatloaf dry. I dumped some ketchup on the meatloaf and was good to go……….Bummer, potentially awesome, but just not to my liking. The mashed potatoes and gravy - A+. The Mac & Cheese is creamy and rich.

Despite arriving on a Friday evening at 6:45pm, we were able to immediately be seated. The service was good. Food came out fairly quickly and piping hot. I would have gave it a better score IF the food tasted better. We ordered 5 appetizers. The chicken poppers were fried hard, so hard that they were hard to eat. The chicken was overcooked 😬 The fried green tomatoes were thick cut (not my personal preference), the tomatoes weren't ripe so they were hard and they were fried hard with no seasoning. Again, overcooked. The cheese sticks were fried into an egg roll. The cheese itself was tasty but as with with everything else, the egg roll was fried hard and hard to chew through.😓 The peel & eat shrimp were fine and last but not least, the molasses cornbread was hard, dry and did not have any flavor. The atmosphere is fun. They even have picnic tables for outdoor dining. If you want to forego good food for good service and a fun atmosphere, this would be a great option. I will not go back. SN: it was affordable, $54 for five appetizers. It really is a great option for families. I wish the food had been better.

Wow! So happy I scrolled through multiple pages, finally deciding on Molly Pitcher's! Food was very impressive. For apps, we had these cool little homemade tots with mashed potatoes inside and also (stay with me here) duck and bacon dumplings. Both were great, and they give you enough to share. We had fish and chips and also a buffalo chicken sandwich. Again, both were really delicious, and very good size portions. We ended up bringing home most of them as leftovers. The chicken and the fish were excellent! Everything was high quality and tasty. Our server was friendly and attentive. He checked on us multiple times to see if we needed refills and how our food was. Can't remember his name, but we liked him. The patio was cool. Tables aren't too close, music isn't too loud, dog friendly, standard patio tables and chairs. Inside was pretty busy, so I had no hesitation heading outside to enjoy the beautiful Fall evening. It was a really great experience to start our anniversary long weekend in Wilmington.

After dinner plans were changed unexpectedly this evening, a choice was made and now I'm in love. Molly Pitcher's ...holy hell! Chef Mike and the staff have the goods here! Tonight's Shrimp & Grits entree instantly catapulted into my top 3 in town...without question. They use grilled bacon-wrapped shrimp and a pimento cheese sauce that stopped me after the first bite. I've been sleeping on this place but I am officially awake now. The fried green tomatoes, soft and beautiful cornbread with molasses butter and a Waterline Kolsch brew to wash it all down were also nothing short of remarkable. A huge "W" for Molly Pitcher's and to my Mrs. for picking on a whim. Thank you for an incredible dinner experience all around and I'd like to mention that our server, Rachel, rocked it out. Phenomenal! 5 Stars all around!!!

We arrived 20 minutes prior to closing, hoping the kitchen would still be open. We were surprised to be welcomed by a very friendly staff who assured us not to rush as the kitchen would be open right up until closing at 9PM. Our waitress was very friendly and provided her personal recommendations per my wife's request. I ordered the Desperado and it was great! The bartender was also very friendly! Despite being the last couple in the restaurant and not wrapping up until almost 9:30, the staff were fantastic, very hospitable, and everything we ordered was fantastic. The Spinach and Artichoke Dip was delicious, as well as my wife's sandwich, the Betsy Ross (BLT). We will definitely be back next time we're in the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach area. Give this place a try if you haven't!
