Because I live 45 minutes away from this business store in Wilmington, NC, I purchased, on line, a wall away power recliner on 08/23/21. Allison helped me with the purchase and she told me that the type of recliner that I was interested in sold right away and as soon as they received a shipment. She said that they had a shipment coming shortly, in September. If I really wanted this recliner I should purchase it now and it would be delivered early September. Since I was having knee surgery on September 13th. the delivery time, early September, sounded perfect. So I went ahead and paid for the power recliner in full. When I asked what would happen if the recliner was too small, Allison indicated that she could send a second larger recliner along with the one I purchased. Then I could choose whichever fit my needs better. I was pleasantly impressed. On September 7 I received an email asking me to set up a date for delivery. When I tried to set up a date, the website wouldnāt allow me to do it. It said that no delivery date was available. To call the main store in Wilmington. I did and after speaking to five different people I got absolutely nowhere. Everyone said they would call me back. No one did. I left voice message after voice message, but nobody called back. Then starting Friday of last week, nobody would answer the phone because āthey were preparing for the biggest sale everā. Finally yesterday a phone call went through, only to get a different recording announcing that the message box was full, to call later. They have completely shut me out. It is now 1 month later and I still have no recliner. At this point I donāt want any of their recliners, I just want my money back. Absolutely disappointed and disgusted with the way this store treats their customers. Today, October 1st. 2021 I would like to post an update on my purchase of a lift recliner from Lay-Z-Boy Furniture store in Wilmington. After reaching out to Corporate Lay-Z-Boy, who got a hold of the store in Wilmington, I was able to finally speak to someone who could help me. Nicole immediately set up a date for delivery and today -Hallelujah- the recliner was delivered. The lift recliner is exactly what I expected. Right size, very comfortable and the color and material just what I needed and wanted. So, this long story has a happy ending after all. Letās hope I donāt have problems with it in the future. Iāll be optimistic and trust that I will enjoy it for years to come....

The last set we had held up beautifully but it would have cost more to reupholster it than buy new furniture. At that time we bought Ashley furniture and immediately regretted that decision. It did not hold up and we were back at square one. We went into the Wilmington store and were waited on by Allison. She was knowledgeable about the furniture and listened when we told her what are furniture needs were. We looked at several different couches and she gave us the pros and cons for each according to our needs. I should also note that she was following Covid 19 safety guidelines by wearing a mask and social distancing which we appreciate. After looking at everything we went home to discuss and make our decision. (My husband and I never impulse buy as we made a bad decision years ago when buying a car.). We made our decision and returned to the store the following week. Allison remembered us when we came in the store. I was impressed by this as I imagine this is not easy with people wearing masks while shopping. We picked our fabric and Allison used her design skills to help us pick out complimentary fabric for pillows. I am thrilled with how the fabrics came together. It was not what I would have chosen on my own and I love how it looks. We ended up buying a sofa, chair and a half, and a ottoman. Allison went over the paperwork and current sales. We were told everything is in stock and would be delivered in approximately two weeks. Once we placed the order we paid the order in full. Second, the new furniture was delivered with attached threads on all the cloth furniture. The $1,100 coffee table we paid for was missing. We immediately let the delivery persons know the coffee table was missing and noted the numerous threads hanging off of the furniture. The delivery persons said they will contact the store to let them know the issues. Third, I was contacted by La-Z-Boy service to set up a date for a technician to come and trim all of the threads left all over the new furniture. I also advised the La-Z-Boy representative of the missing coffee table. The representative stated she will contact the store manager. This was over four days ago. We have also left messages to have someone with the store return our call and advise the status of our coffee table. To date, we have had no response from anyone with La-Z-Boy regarding our coffee table. They are very quick to take your money, but do not provide what was purchased, do not communicate, and there is no quality control on the products. We really want the coffee table we purchased or return our money. Simply respond to messages and let us know. Think twice before you purchase from this location.
