Had another chance to dine at River Rock Kitchen inside the Westin in Wilmington, DE, and it's definitely a place of contrasts. It's got its highlights, but there are a few things they could brush up on. Let's start with the good stuff. Sam, our server, was fantastic. She's got this way of making you feel right at home, attentive and friendly without being overbearing. It's service like hers that can really make a meal memorable. The chicken I had tonight was pretty impressive, too. Cooked just right, flavorful, and hit the spot perfectly. The drinks were another win – mixed well and complemented the meal nicely. But it wasn't all smooth sailing. I ordered a burger last night, asked for it medium, but it came out more on the well-done and slightly charred side. It's those little details in cooking that can make a big difference. The menu could do with a bit of a shake-up, too. It's a bit on the narrow side for my liking. They could really benefit from adding a filet or something similar for steak lovers. It would round out their offerings nicely. And, the cheesecake... well, it wasn't quite up to par. It gave off that store-bought or maybe thawed vibe, which you don't really expect in a place like this. Homemade desserts would be a game-changer for their menu. I'm in Wilmington quite a bit, a few weeks each year, so I'm really invested in places like River Rock Kitchen. They've got some solid groundwork, but with a few tweaks, they could really elevate their game. Fingers crossed they take this to heart – a place with this much potential deserves to shine.

Missed breakfast, but wowed by dinner service and Sam's hospitality! Our stay at The Westin in Delaware started with a slight misstep - we arrived just after the 10 am breakfast cutoff. Disappointed but ready for dinner (starting at 5 pm), we waited eagerly for the doors to open. Upon entering, we were promptly seated and warmly welcomed by Ariana and our server, Sam. Their attentiveness and friendliness immediately impressed us. When I mentioned the lack of a microwave in the room and my desire for the roasted chicken, Sam surprised me by offering to have maintenance bring one! This blew me away, and I happily accepted her offer. My husband, Dr. Angel, opted for the cheeseburger. Both portions were generous, and we couldn't finish them all. The next morning, we enjoyed a delicious in-room breakfast. This Thanksgiving getaway was the perfect blend of relaxation, planning for future business ventures, and indulging in delicious food. While our room and the hotel was very dated, the staff, particularly Sam, were exceptional and made our stay truly memorable. We will definitely be returning to The Westin in the future!

This is a hotel lobby restaurant, which wasn’t what I expected. The service was good; the servers were energetic and welcoming. However, the food was disappointing. I went for brunch and was surprised that even something as simple as French toast was awful. It was spicy and sour at the same time. I really wanted to like this place, but it just didn’t work out.

Here on business ordered from my room on line. The site said I could pay cash, card or charge to my room after delivery and would not give pay by a card option on line. I was worried so I ran down to pay with my card to make sure it wasn’t charged to the company room. They informed me despite what it claims on line it automatically gets charged to the room. I was polite and asked if by any chance they could cancel my order and just reorder in person on my card. The manager said no problem. I thought it was smooth. They said they could bring my food up. Welp when I got my food apparently I pissed some one off. It was disgusting. No lettuce, tomato or the extra bacon I requested came on my burger . No big deal. Just a patty and cheese. Still no big deal. But the burger was gritty like thrown in a fry vat or dirty grill. Covered in small black chunks and piece. Both sides not pepper. Like burnt grit or dirt. I got Brussels in stead of fries. I lifted my burger up and there was two inches of grease and oil in the bottom of my bowl. Which make me think dipped in a vat? Idk. I took a couple crunchy bites of my burger almost like dirt and I could not and was scared to eat the rest. I stay here a few times a year never ordered food probably just going to stick to going out to dinner or door dash.posted pics of the bowl of oil and grease. Soggy Artichokes were not even edible, I put it all out side. You would think you can not mess those up. I didn’t trust anything after the few burger bites anyway. See...
