Our first and last time coming here was on March 9th, 2024. We came to get fresh bakery goods and try a new place out.
When coming in, the place looked nice clean and fancy. The line had about 3 groups of people ahead of us. We disliked that things on their wall like coffees and such had no prices. So after waiting in line for about 25 minutes (since there was only 1 guy taking orders and putting things on plates), we had placed our order. We Ordered 1 limoncello cake, 1 cake pop, 3 marshmallows and a chocolate cake (which was an alternative due to the "chef" not being there to make a crepe).
After about 5 minutes we received our chocolate cake, 1 cake pop, 1 marshmellow and 1 lemoncello cake on the same plate with no utensils. I guess it was nice to share a plate between the 3 of us- honestly kind of obnoxious. We checked the receipt and had been charged for only 1 marshmallow which was good because that's all we got.
I didnt want to let the long wait change my mind about how I liked or disliked the food so I went into eating with an open mind. The limoncello cake was delicious and so was the chocolate cake. The cake pop was heavy as hell. The marshmallows were to take home for others. While sitting there (i'm assuming) the owners had pulled up with supplies from the Restaurant Depot located right down the street in New Castle. Already frozen Lemoncello cake, chocolate cake and everything else that goes in their pastery case. This is the moment this bakery hit rock bottom for us.
It's a shame that there's only a handful of real bakery around here. Finding out that we just ate frozen food from someone else, we just can't give this place any credit for that. This is a 2 star bakery if you care about genuity and uniqueness. 4 stars if you just want to get...
Read moreI had a 5 star review since they are asked for by friends and family of the owner.. (notice all the ukrainian name reviews with 5 stars..)
however it's been nothing but bad experiences with them. My wife worked here shortly and they don't let the employees keep the tips, which is also illegal. but regardless please DON'T TIP!!, it only goes to the stealing owner.. now that my wife quit since owner is committing wage theft, we need a simple form saying my wife no longer works there and she refuses to fill it out or help in any way causing us issues, when it takes 1 minute to full out the paper... If you care at all about how a business is run and not just croissants, you should not go here.
( To the response - the accountant hung up on me and blamed the owner for illegal doings not her accounting firm. Then the next day the boss fired another worker because the accountant told the boss she was doing things illegal with her as well. At the end of day you didn't defend the fact that baristas get no tips, so people, don't tip for service!( Not even cash in the jar) If you even want to support a criminal company. also owner doesn't speak English so this lying response is...
Read moreThis place was the cutest vibe, I loved it the moment I walked in. Aliyah, the cashier/server was great and helpful and kind. The only problem was, people seemed to be walking in off the street and going behind the counter! When I'm at a restaurant or café setting, it bothers me to see people not washing their hands and being surrounded by the food I'm consuming....to make matters worse, two women were discussing (in a different language) some items that were in a glass jar, then one of them opens the jar, sniffs the enclosed items. To make matters worse....she grabbed one of the pastries, touched it all up and put it back!!! That was not okay and my friend spoke up and asked her to remove the container that was now contaminated....surely, they did not like that but serving that to other customers was not cool! So would I go back, probably not but before the food handlers came in....it was...
