Nice open green space, thats walking distance to entertainment, salons, public transit, luxury apts (think 2000 plus) reastarunts, market, walking, jogging paths, vegan spots, gym, river cruises and a lot of prom photo shoot ideas. Certain areas like starbucks is college students, weekends constituion beer garden is family friendly (kids outside playing softball, kickball, cornhole and other lawn games while the reluctant teens babysit (im sure theirs an allowance upgrade somewhere in there for them)and adults have fun)), Docklands for the young professional (girlfreinds, coworkers or date)), occasional family or middle-aged person, River Rock is for our Seasoned Saints, the person who forgot an anniversary or birthday or someone, trying to stand out amongst potential courters without seeming obnoxious, The families, church youth and school groups have the childrens musuem and trampoline...
Read moreThis was/is great for out of towners like me. Sometimes you just want a change of scenery. Hop on a train from Chi town... NY.... Charm city.... DC or Philly to little ole Wilmington De. . Just a few hours away than enjoy River walk park... located right outside the train station! There are lots of activities along the walk -restaurants.. variety -from Peruvian to Ice cream shops. Events- movie theater, mini golf, childrens museum. Art work - peppered in along the path. An extensive array of trees, plants and flowers -some native to DE I had never seen before. Yes there are benches along the path and security on bicycles -I felt very safe. I met a friend from PA here... im from MD. We had a great day here- had breakfast at the local market place than walked the path, enjoying activities as we went. Id...
Read moreSuch a beautiful place for a walk. I’m visiting while on a cross country road trip from Nevada. I’ve seen waterfronts from across the country - from west to east, down south and up north. This waterfront ranks up there as one of my favorites!
Not only is the walk absolutely gorgeous, but it’s also just the right length. Not too long, not too short. Along the walk you’ll see a nice selection of restaurants, as well as a ballpark. They’re plenty of benches and a lot are in the shade. If you’re visiting from out of town they’re a couple hotels on the waterfront (Homewood and Hyatt). There is also ample parking. I parked my car and left it in the same spot for 3 days because between the hotel, restaurants, and waterfront everything was within waking distance.
