Racist Incident-Attended swarms vs bluecoats game this black Friday. While we won the game, I felt really let down in the name of humanity. I was making my baby sleep so I was by the Courtside where I saw two tweens/teens go to the cheergirls and ask them to throw the tshirts to them and the cheergirls smilingly nodded and said "sure". And threw the tshirts to them when they came next. Seeing this I had a tween in the family who joined basketball team recently that really wanted the tshirt. I asked her to ask the cheerleaders and she did to which their reply was "it is not in their control and she can buy in merch if she wants one". And that, little boys and girls would only get one if they asked. But I just saw that wasn't the case just few minutes earlier. Then I saw a little indian boy chase the person throwing tshirts but nothing. And the same person gave two tshirts to bigger kids standing by the courtside just a minute later. I was obviously furious to see this. And I didn't know who I should talk to about this. But I do know that atleast one person reading this would have access to them. What happened is not right, just cos we have left our country and have come to your country doesnt mean you get to treat us this way.I can't believed I witnessed this with my 10 month old in hand. This is appaling. This is discrimination and not to adults but kids. Imagine how the 12 year old must have felt happening to her.The parties involved might lie but if you check your video you'll find me right by the cheerleaders with my baby when two tweens approached them at the court. So it's not hearsay. There were chase employees with us too. Please give me a name so I can contact the person responsible for the team. sincerely, Just a human being with...
Read moreThe Fieldhouse is a nice stadium. It holds sports events, graduations & much more. My son's graduation ceremony was well organized. My daughter's ceremony was held there a few years back. It is very clean, has security & a food court. The issue with graduation ceremonies being held there is getting into the parking lot & getting a spot. The lot is not big. The major issue is that one graduation ceremony is finishing up & just beginning to leave and another ceremony coming in at the same time. No 1 or 2 hours in between graduation ceremonies as it should be. It was a mess. We experienced the same with my daughter's graduation ceremony. Getting into the parking lot is stressful. Many had to park on the road next to the building. There were even police officers outside starting at the lights on the main road controlling the lights to about 3 or 4 more officers spread out until you get to the lot. We were in line just to get into the lot for at least a 1/2 hr!! Whoever was in charge of organizing this, should have learned from past ceremonies. I was really surprised due to people complaining in the past. All in all, it is a great place for ceremonies &...
Read moreWe have a great time at the Blue Coats games with the kids. The team is extremely competitive, and it is great to see some of the 76ers two way players in a smaller venue.
However, a few areas need inprovements...
They charge $5 for parking, which is not a big deal. However, if you look at the Blue Rocks for comparison, parking is free. Also, they have two lots in use for the games. When the lot closest to rt 13 is being used, traffic stretches out onto 13 making for a dangerous experience entering the facility.
For some reason they have no sidewalks leading up to the facility from the mail lot used for game day parking. You either have to walk in the street or the grass which is normally muddy.
They have one small concession area for the entire facility. Even with the games at less that half capacity, the line can extend up to 50 deep. If they can improve this experience, I would think a greater number of people would attend the games. Part of the allure of attending games is the food offerings, which are severely lacking at the Fieldhouse. Oh and the food is...
