Where do i begin... the donuts at this place are simply amazing! The donut holes are pure legend in Wilson. They have soo many options for the dessert case, but this MAY depend on the day & time though. For example on Friday afternoons, you may be lucky to get anything other than traditional glazed donuts. But this is just because they sell out! The owners are there a lot and are physically hands-on type owners, out front helping customers, down to taking orders & you can tell this is not corporate run. Not only that, they are truly GOOD, loving people. (You can taste the love in the food) And now to the food: they serve breakfast & lunch all day. I’m a breakfast junkie, and it’s southern style, not frozen or anything like fast food does. Same goes for their lunch. Burgers, Hotdogs, Fries, House Chips, all made to order and fresh! I have been eating here since i was young enough to remember! Please give this place a try if you haven’t before. If you’ve had a bad experience, I urge you to give them another try. Wow wow and wow! I love pastries, doughnuts, and good baked goods. I have sampled my share of what were less than stellar. This place was not one of those.

My first indication that this place had potential was the parking lot and drive through. Both were packed and these were local folks. Now be prepared for a line and a little wait, but trust me, it will be worth it.

While the inside is small, the food is amazing. Had the steak, egg, and cheese biscuit. The best part… the biscuit. It was one of those you could tell someone knew what they were doing. It was soft with being crispy in the right spots. I do believe the proper shortening or lard was used. They didn’t spare the steak, egg, or cheese either.

As we left, we bought a few doughnuts. Oh my. They would be worth a drive alone. The cream was not too sweet and the dough was yeasty - the best. Not greasy. Glazed but not over done.

I have always enjoyed wilson donut shoppe Donuts and for years i would buy them for company meetings and training seminars .i always said they were better than kryspy kream . I have not been there since i retired 2 years ago. i went this morning and was very disappointed Ordered12 donut holes 4 glazed donuts and 4 cream donuts. The holes were not fluffy and light they were more like clumps of dough that were soggie, there was no glaze the glazed donuts were the same,soggie clumps of dough. The cream donuts were tiny and less then a teaspoon of cream. one of the two had a hole where cream was to be put in but no cream I went home and threw everything in the trash. I was very disappointed and will never go back. I know the place changed hands but did they use a different recipe? Really...
