I chose to spend part of my 53rd birthday having lunch at Sweet Tâs, and unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst birthday decision Iâve ever made. What shouldâve been a relaxing and enjoyable meal completely ruined my day.
To start, my wife and I were seated promptlyâgreat first impression. But from there, everything went downhill fast.
We sat at our table for 15 minutes without being greeted by anyone. No water. No menu walkthrough. Just three servers walking up and down the aisle, and not a single one made eye contact or acknowledged our presence. Two waiters passed us multiple timesâneither were assigned to us.
Eventually, our server Jorge arrived, and when I politely asked if it was standard practice for guests to wait that long before being greeted or receiving water, his response was defensive and dismissive. He claimed at Sweet Tâs the waiters bring out waterâwhich was clearly false, as I witnessed another couple receive water within 30 seconds of being seated right after our conversation.
Jorge was rude, arrogant, and unprofessional throughout. Despite that, my wife and I decided to go ahead and place our order to avoid letting one bad apple ruin the day. That was wishful thinking.
Soon after, the manager Robert approached our table unprompted and said he overheard our conversation. Initially, he echoed the same lack of accountability as Jorge, but after explaining our frustration, he assured us he would make things right and asked us to give them a chance.
Unfortunately, that effort didnât last long. When we asked a simple question about the barbecue sauce (which one was mild vs. hot), Jorge once again became confrontational and unhelpful. Rather than deal with any more disrespect, we left the food untouched and walked out.
We ended up dining at another establishment across the way, where the service was respectful, prompt, and exactly what we hoped for on my birthday.
To make matters worse, I reached out to the owner Ann to share this experienceâand to date, I have received no response.
Sweet Tâs provided the worst restaurant experience of my life, and it happened on my birthday. The service was negligent, the staff unapologetic, and the management lacked genuine accountability. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this establishment to anyone.
Updated message to the owner, to make matters worse, your response was disgusting!!! I now see where the arrogance, rudeness and unprofessionalism come from⌠âYou!!!â
The lies in your response to cover up our experience is laughable. We did not complain about the table at all. We asked to be seated there, why would we complain Ann? I donât know what 6 minute video you were watching and my wife didnât immediately go to the restroom. You mentioned that the restaurant was busy but everyone elseâs water hit the table within one minute. Based on our observation.
If we wanted to make it about race we would have added it to the review!!! I mentioned that our service may be due our race our maybe not. THATâS WHAT I SAID ANN!!! Your immigration creation is sad!!!
We run a nonprofit that assist the homeless across California. We do it with our own hard earned money Ann! For you try and insult me shows how immature you are as a business owner. I will not acknowledge you as a leader. I can use whatever resource Iâm affiliated with to leave a review, thatâs not you decision- Itâs mine!
We didnât come in looking for a fight, Sweet Tâs just provided poor service. Accept it for it is, you canât because your ego is to big for that!!!
Iâm a selfless individual and never thought the world evolves around me Ann. Thatâs why we help people that are in need. Itâs 21 Reasons Outreach not Mr. 21 Region Outreach and thatâs specifically to you. I can send insults but itâs petty.
I shared my experience you couldnât take it, you lied and sent several insults. The world doesnât evolve around you Ann. PERIOD!
You take offense to customers reviews that are not glowing and that highlights your true identity to me. Iâve read a few other reviews youâve...

Just to clarify I did not go on the date stated in your response. No cameras or films crews, just one of a few people in the bar area in the early afternoon.
I noticed the use of capital letters in your response, and I just want to clarify that my intention is not to escalate the situation or make it combative in any way. My feedback was meant to be constructive, with the hope that those involved would take an honest, introspective approach and work toward improvement and awareness.
Iâd also like to clarify one important aspect of my experience. As a Black person sitting alone at the bar, being ignored and then bypassed to serve two white patrons that arrived after me was not something that happened accidentally. This was a specific incident that felt deeply rooted in unconscious bias.
I appreciate your statement regarding your values, but it is critical that these values are consistently reflected in action. Words are meaningful, but actions speak louder. My hope is that you take this feedback constructively, look closely at the incident, hold those involved accountable and commit to doing the work necessary to improve the experience for all individuals moving forward.
I truly hope that this can be seen as an opportunity for growth.
I recently visited this restaurant, where I have been a loyal customer for nearly a decade, ever since their original location in Santa Rosa. I was excited to return after they rebuilt following the unfortunate events that affected the original location, but my most recent visit left me deeply disappointed and disturbed.
Upon arriving, I sat at the bar where two bartenders were working. Despite being visible to both, I was neither greeted nor acknowledged for nearly 10 minutes. They appeared to be occupied but made no effort to communicate that they would assist me shortly. To my dismay, when two other patrons, who happened to be white, sat down after me, they were served almost immediately. I am African American, and it was painfully clear that I was being deliberately ignored.
When the bartender finally approached, I mentioned that I had not been greeted or acknowledged, only to be met with a dismissive and gaslighting response, as though my concern was unfounded. It was a disheartening and frankly unacceptable experience.
I never expected to encounter such blatant discrimination especially in California. Itâs shocking and sad to feel treated as though I were invisible due to my race. Based on this experience, I am seriously reconsidering whether I will continue to patronize your establishment in the future. I hope the management will address this matter to ensure others are not subjected to similar treatment. I also hope this is not what this...
Read moreNot the best experience. Started off with a threat durimg making reservations, that we would be charged for cancelation within our group of 10. Not cancel of the reservation but if the group was less then 10 we would be cbarged for no shows. And the apparent reasoning was that they had to make "specific arrangements" for large groups. However, when we arrived, well before our reserved time. We were told we could be seated on the patio right away or what for an open table. What special arrangements? They also got our name wrong terribly and when we tried to correect them they acted as though they didn't care.and they acted as though they were not ready for us. Yet, we made reservations a week before. We were directed to the patio (basically a sidewalk with questionable "permitted " enclosure?). Basicilly patio furniture metal tables and chairs not even tablecloths. Once seated we asked for waters to drink and a couple of large pitchers of water, as our party likes to drink lots of water. They denied us. Yet did not stay on top of keeping our 8oz glasses topped off, we had to ask whenever we needed a refill.and then wait for them to return. We asked for the bill to be decided up. They refused. Never was informed until then and we have couples that would've liked to have paid separately. This sometimes happens at restaurants we understand still an inconvenience. Salads and soups did not arrive before the meal. They even wasted time bringing out one plate and a spoon, nothing else.(maybe top off water at that time?). Entrees started to arrive, and two of the dinner salads after the entree arrive. The food that was served was only okay, not the best tasting, and definitely not like it used to taste at the old location, or the quality of service either. We understand that gratuity is automatically included on the final bill with a group this large. However, the service did not deserve the high percentage of gratuity that was required/included. Our group eats out together regularly, and we have received superbly better services at places like Mary's Pizza and KCs restaurant in Windsor and others. With better tasting food! I feel sorry for the young servers who work at Sweet Ts they are not properly trained. Overall, the experience we had was very bad and it was super disappointing, I doubt we will return. It left us all with a bad taste and honestly a...
