I travel for work and dine out multiple times per week, but never write reviews- I am the guy that says “pick something you would like” and literally never complains. I worked front and back in college. tended, served, managed. Always tip 20%+ and totally respect the hustle. I don’t send things back, I don’t ask for things off the bill, I am as kind as anyone is to me in all facets of my life.
I had a shitty enough experience at this place that I will never spend another dime there. Beyond that I will waste my time writing this review, and will rehash this terrible experience to tell other locals about it, over, and over, again.
We dined at mandarin with a work group of 20 people. We were all orderly, polite, professionals from all over the country, and I was one of the locals showing them a good time.
After a great dinner we dispersed between monkey bar and mule bar, catching up and all mostly sitting at the outside seating of both locations having drinks.
I walked from monkey bar with a colleague where I entered mule bar and asked the bartender for suggestions. I let her know I’ll drink whatever she makes and she snapped back “you’ll read the menu and pick a drink”, and pointed to my friend. After he ordered she snapped again “what do you want?” I said I guess I’ll have a Tito’s and soda, and as I handed her my card I said “customer services goes out the window when you are busy, huh ?” She then she kicked me and my colleague out of the bar.
I admit it was probably an inflammatory remark to call out her bad customer service, but she was nasty for no reason, and if I treated my clients that way I wouldn’t have any….
Wish this was over….I wouldn't have wanted my time writing the review about that.
I then to back monkey, laugh the weird interaction off, and get a drink with my colleague. 15 minutes later I went back up the street to see our colleagues at mule bar’s sidewalk patio, and she ran out of the bar yelling at me saying she was going to call the police. I immediately vacated back to monkey bar.
She then called the police in front of all my work colleagues as if I was some line of disorderly drunk.I wasn’t intoxicated, I didn’t raise my voice, I said like 6 words to this lady total.
The officer visited Mule bar to deal with her complaint, and visited monkey where I was playing pool after. He talked to the bartender, said nothing to me, and left.
I was a good paying, orderly guest that asked for a suggestion and was treated like garbage by this bartender, and then humiliated in front of all of my colleagues.
If I ran this bar tonight would be that girls last night.
This was totally...
Read moreThe food here is excellent and the staff are really nice! I was visiting from out of town back in May, and had ordered online. One of the items I ordered, a rice krispy treat, was missing. It was a very minor inconvenience, but I figured I'd just contact the restaurant and get a refund, so I just told them which item was missing. Initially, I was told to just swing by the restaurant and pick the item up, but at this point I had already left and went back to my home in another state, which I let them know. It took a while for them to respond and I wasn't even thinking about it anymore because of how small the item was, but they replied back and said they would give me a gift card for the next time I visited. So I said okay and just waited, thinking they would email me a promotional code or something. A few months passed by and I hadn't received anything yet, but I had let it go, because again, the item was small and just a snack. Mule emailed me back and asked for my address. I was a little surprised due to the amount of time that had passed by, but I sent my address and figured they would send me a physical gift card. Instead, they mailed me 2 rice krispy treats to make up for the 1 they forgot, which I thought was really nice and thoughtful. It wasn't a big issue, but from my experience, I can see the staff at Mule really care about their customers and are willing to go above and beyond, even in small situations...
Read moreLiterally the worst experience I've ever had a bar. The bartender was clearly ignoring us. Friday night 9/2 we waited at the bar for over thirty minutes. Literally walked in the front, he greeted us- gave us the drink menus and then just never returned. He clearly knew we were there and when everyone else got served, one of my companions got fed up and asked him why he refused to serve us. His answer was "I have a system." Well, his "system" caused the six of us to leave the bar without drinks or service. Sounds like an awesome system huh? Even the other patrons at the bar seemed a little weirded out that he was blatantly ignoring us. Idk if he was racist as I am a POC and everyone else at the bar was white? I hate to even think that- but thats where your mind goes when someone is being very rude without any context. 1/5 stars is too many in my opinion. I will never go back to this...
