Where do I even begin? Five SOLID stars for this place! Great drinks, friendly service, comfortable atmosphere.
I found myself in Florida after a stint in rehab in another part of the country, and, I tell ya, the adjustment was brutal. I didn’t know which way was up, and Florida was not the same as it was when I left. Or maybe it was, and it was I who had changed.
Regardless, as I sat in the Axum Coffee shop pondering what to do with my life going forward, an idea came to mind.
First, there was a gas station across the street. It was no Luxe Martini bar, but it did have cans of beer, which pretty much landed me in rehab in the first place, where I met some of my very best friends. I would start the afternoon by getting some of that fine Steel Reserve (great choice because after up-chucking the calories don’t stick) and going down to the local lake, which has park benches and marshy shores - a better place to drink has never been invented. After downing 4 - 5 tall boys on the lake bench, I’d probably need a slight pick-me-up, where I could head over to my buddy Skids, who hangs out behind the lake restrooms peddling his wares of both “awake-ness” and “sleepy-nows.” While fully intending to take advantage of the “awake-inducers,” I could see myself opting instead for the “sleepy-nows” for which Skids is so well known.
Once the “sleepy-nows” kick in, the Steel Reserve will no longer cut it. It’s time for the High Life - Miller, that is, so back to the gas station I go. One of the benefits of sleepy-nows is an enhanced spirit of friendliness and camaraderie, so naturally the cashier gives me a free pass on the two 16 packs of Miller. I’m so well known to the cashier at this point that I’m not even required to have a conversation and simply head back to the lake in haste!
While quietly observing the flora and fauna the Central Florida lake ecosystem supports, a few more sleepy-nows and 29 Millers help to enhance the natural feeling of beauty and wonder and that sense of one-ness with nature.
The feeling of sunshine upon my face gently rouses me from my slumber. My sense of being one with nature has been so strong that I’ve apparently chosen to rest like the fauna of the lake, right along the shoreline, safely tucked under the sediment and grasses they use for security.
Fortunately, there are three remaining Millers from the previous night, with which I quench my tremendous thirst, and then head back to Axum Coffee Emporium, where their delicious beverages bring me back to a state of productivity and wakefulness.

I am returning for a new review in December 2024, we went in about two nights ago after watching the elf at the Garden theater to have a late night cup before we went home, with some expectedly delicious Axum coffee and with me was my fiancé who had neverexperienced Axum before, so he was very excited to go, we did go in late because the movie just went over and they were about to close. However, we were unaware of that at the time of entry. We went in and glanced over the menu to decide on what we would be ordering and then we ordered just two regular hot coffees. The coffees that came out were not hot at all. They were luke warm at best and we asked young lady, there was any way of getting them warned, and she basically just told us the only option would be to put hot water into them which we declined that offer, she basically said well we're closed but I could put jot water into it. Which was kind of upsetting. Seems we Must've paid for our coffee while they were open still or they woulvdlldve mentioned being closed prior to us purchasing our coffees. She did not offer any other solutions and seemed like she didn't really care.
We only walked over to the creamer sugar area and came back as soon as we took our first sips, to ask about getting them warmed.
So anyway we went off and drank our cold coffees in the cold lol upset about our experience.
Maybe next time will be better. If so...

(COVID: All staff are wearing masks, masks are required to enter. All tables are available, none are blocked off. I don't see anyone wiping down tables after each use)
What? I usually go for the lattes. Recently it has been the Coffee Grog, IT IS SO GOOD! This is a house blend syrup with oat milk. The only think I don't like about their drinks is that it is never hot enough... The barista said that Oatmilk will start to get clumpy if it gets too hot... Ive also tried their cold brew and I think it is eh.. There is a small amount of sandwiches or baked goods available to have with the drink. There is also a variety of tea blends available for those not drinking coffee.
Environment This is located in the heart of WG. Perfect place to grab coffee and sit on the swings outside, or stroll the trail. There are a couple of seats inside and outside. There are no bathrooms inside the cafe.
Niceness of the staff Staffs are super nice. They seem to like working there. They are sure to make sure that you are satisfied with your drink.
Dollar Typical coffee shop price. The small coffee Grog was around $5, it may have been cause of the oat milk....
Yes? Yup, I live in this area and I like this coffee shop. Great for coffee,...
