I had an amazing bachelorette weekend thanks to the amazing folks at Historic Edgewater Hotel. Stephan and Lila and all the awesome staff helped us every step of the way. I'm extremely grateful for all they did for us, because they went above and beyond, to make our stay memorable. As the bride, I can't wait to come back with my husband.
First of all, I feel like I uncovered an amazing hidden gem noone knew about. My friend and I only discovered this bed and breakfast because we walked by one night on Plant Street and by happenstance decided to look up. After our wonderful stay here, everyone has expressed how amazed they have been by my discovery of this treasure.
From their accommodations during check-in for our large party (all arriving at different times), to their help with storing our luggage during check out, they staff have been super helpful every step of the way.
Parking: Requires an overnight decal but I was advised we can park both in the hotel lot or the public lot behind the hotel. Free parking.
Rooms: Every room had very unique decorations! If you're uncomfortable with dolls... well, not every room has one. My room did have a doll with a skirt covering the extra toilet paper. The walls to the hallway are thin but I slept next to the dining room and I didn't hear anything. We had some problems figuring out the bath fixtures but even late at night the staff was available to help us. All the rooms were clean and comfy.
Common spaces: There's a couple sofas in the small open space on the 2nd floor, but there's an amazing outdoor seating area where I wish I got to spend more time at! It kept out the rain but kept the nice breeze. The only downside was the smokers.
Breakfast: The made to order breakfast was amazing. You make a reservation for your party for breakfast starting at 8am. Even without the breakfast, the dining area is fully stocked with self service food and snacks including teas, keurig for coffee, fruit bowls, cereals, chips and also candy bowls in the hallways! We also tried the award winning brunch at the Tasting Room downstairs of the hotel.
My only complaint is the thinness of the walls (three of my group couldn't sleep because of a loud snoring neighbor), my bathroom door didn't close all the way, and the decision to put large decor in the rooms that blocked access to the closets. It was funny that one room had a large trunk in front of the closet and another had a whole barbershop chair.
For the great value and the coziness, I would highly recommend for...
Read moreWhere do I even start? This historic hotel is a truly unique experience in old world charm and hospitality. Pictures don't do this place justice. You really have to see it and experience it for yourself..because it truly is an experience. As soon as you walk in the lobby you're magically transported back in time to 1927. Every aspect around you is antique..or looks antique. It's so hard to describe! I was only able to spend 24 hours here and let me tell you I wished it was longer. I was sad to leave! The staff that I met (Lily & Lilah) were so sweet and kind! Lilah checked me in and showed me the breakfast room upstairs with unlimited snacks, soups, chips, trail mix bars, granola bars, coffee and teas anytime of the day or night that you like. Wow! Awesome! Then she showed me to my room. I was blown away. I couldn't believe that I had the privilege to stay in such a beautiful, cozy, charming room as this! Beds were very comfortable, nice thread count sheets, thick comfortable comforters on the beds. Pillows nice and lofty, heavy. I'm guessing goose feather down? Extra blanket in the corner on the chair. Mini fridge in the corner. I stayed in room 213 by the way right next to the breakfast area. My room overlooked the front street where you could see the shops and people walking by. At night time the view was stunning. Had a great night's sleep. Ultra quiet in this hotel. When I laid down to sleep I had the biggest smile on my face. The next morning I had breakfast at 8am. Lily served breakfast: Scrambled eggs with cheese, English muffin, orange juice, sausage, hash browns, orange marmalade and French Toast. Lots of options to order from! Huge, amazing breakfast! Omg! You are treated like absolute royalty here. I felt like a queen. I have stayed in many many hotels in my lifetime..this is hands down my favorite...of all time. I stayed here on July 6th and will be returning either in the fall or right around Christmas when Plant Street is all lit up and decorated with 25,000 people in the street. Can't wait for my next visit back! I want the same room again! Try this place, you will...

I can't say enough good things about my/our experience!
My experience started back in April when the groom's mother and I stopped by to see the hotel. A staff member took us on a guided tour of the hotel, and she spent a great deal of time giving us information on the hotel and its services.
After I reserved the hotel for our event, I called MANY times to place someone in a room or just to ask additional questions. EVERY time that I called, the staff members were extremely polite, professional, and went the extra mile to help me.
The hotel has a great dining room / living room common area that our large used frequently. It is an excellent set up for a large group. We had plenty of space to socialize.
I've seen in some of the other reviews that people were disappointed with the lack of modern conveniences at the hotel. It is a HISTORIC building, so of course some of the features are not going to be state-of-the-art, but the rooms were all very clean and in working order. The beds were very comfortable.
ALL of our guests just raved about the service that they received while at the hotel. We were personally escorted to our rooms. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the service for the breakfasts was excellent. The hotel provided FREE drinks and snacks during our entire stay (available all day and nighy).
The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Winter Garden which is a very quaint area with various shops and excellent restaurants. There were also multiple bars where the wedding party and their friends could hang out.
Last, but not least, the room prices are very reasonable - quite a bit less than any of the nicer hotels in the area. We also received an additional discount on each room since we had a large group.
I highly recommend this hotel - especially if you have a large group! I can't thank them all enough for making our stay such a...
