I had the die behrens which is a pork schnitzel on a pretzel roll ($18). The pork schnitzel itself was on the bland side, but the lingonberry sauce helped. The pretzel bun was soft and hot. Portion wise it leaned a little towards the smaller size and overall just ok for an $18 sandwich.
They have bottled German beer for around $5. Although I didn't enjoy my particular sandwich,
One thing I didn't like was the person prepping, although he had gloves on was touching his hat and other things while prepping food. I'm sure other establishments do the same, but hoping that they don't for the sake of customers.
I'd come back and try the other selections like the pastrami on a toasted hoagie which looked good.
The atmosphere is tavern-like with German knickknacks. They have a retro Nintendo with a CRT tv that you can actually play with.
They happened to have an Octoberfest event outside next door in a parking lot area which I did not attend, but one of the staff was inviting and friendly and informed me about it....
Read moreSchweinis Deli is a gem for anyone craving authentic German flavors, particularly if you love a great sandwich! Their hot sandwiches are unbeatable—crispy on the outside, filled with perfectly seasoned meats and cheeses, and always hot and fresh. Every bite is a reminder of why I keep coming back.
It’s clear everything at Schweinis is made in-house, from the sausages to the sides, which makes each meal taste like a true labor of love. The sides are incredible too—each one bursting with authentic flavors that pair perfectly with the main dishes. Their German potato salad and sauerkraut are the perfect complements to any sandwich.
The team here is fantastic! Not only are they friendly and welcoming, but they also keep things moving smoothly. Even during the lunch rush, my order arrives in record time, without sacrificing quality. If you’re looking for an authentic German deli experience with a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food, Schweinis Deli should be at the top...
Read moreHighly recommend! Located a couple blocks off the main strip in Old Winter Garden, the area and the place have plenty of charm. Parking is easy. Living in Orlando, I have dined in all too many of the typical chain/corporate restaurants. This place is locally owned and operated by a guy named Chris, who takes pride in making great food. This is a counter service German deli with huge pretzels, hot sandwiches - and great beer. There are TVs that broadcast soccer matches and friends who get together to watch soccer, eat great food, and enjoy some quality time together. I’ve never been there for Karaoke, but I saw that they have a machine. Although it is relatively small, it is comfortable. The prices are reasonable and the full sandwiches are big...
