The Hotdog Cart — Restaurant in Winter Harbor

Sorry but we were very disappointed based on the high rating.

My wife wanted a lobster roll and I have seen this place and read good reviews. But the experience we had didn’t live up to the expectations.

My wife’s lobster roll was very fresh. The lobster meat was the star of the meal. The roll was a huge disappointment. She could barely pick it up as the roll was so flimsy. More like lobster meat on bread. If a decent roll was used she said it would have been better. Still, she really liked the lobster. 4 stars (5 if a decent roll was used.)

My fish sandwich was the worst I’ve had in Maine. I didn’t enjoy the breading or the fish. It was pretty flavorless. 1 star.

The fries were undercooked and over salted. They also probably were cooked with, or somehow in contact with the fish, as they had that type of flavor. 1 star.

On a summer day, the Hotdog Cart hits the spot with delicious brown hotdogs and choices including spicy mustard and amazing hot relish.

The winner was a large fresh cucumber sized homemade pickle. Large enough to cut into 8 large bites that gives watermelon a run for a summer refresher. Wonderful downeaster Maine staff. I have no idea what all these other people are saying with five stars. We pulled up to have a lobster roll we ordered two lobster rolls, one order of french fries a diet Coke and a water and it came to $89. There was nothing remarkable about the sandwich at all. The atmosphere was blah, maybe because it was September you could sit outside or sit inside but there it was only us inside really nothing going on. Please don't stop here. Plenty of other...
