whopaints Gallery and Studio — Attraction in Winter Harbor

We visited this lovely studio today and met a gem of a person and wonderful artist. Her work is inventive and skillfull and is truly original. It was a joy speaking with the artist. Somehow we didn't get her name, but this is also not the kind of studio where it feels like it's about the artist. It's about the art, in the best way. She told us about her different approaches to her work, the different media and papers, and the more we looked the more we were drawn in. I was lucky enough to stumble onto Wendilee’s gallery while exploring downtown Winter Harbor, and I’m so glad I did. Her artwork is beautiful and intentional; I’m a newly graduated college student and bought my first piece of art at her gallery. Even more than that, Wendilee was an incredible person to talk to, as she was delighted to explain the process behind her different pieces and happily gave us recommendations of things to do and places to see in the area. Wendilee is a phenomenal artist, activist, person and member of her community. My fiancée and I went for our anniversary, and it felt like we got a private tour of her studio. She told us what mediums she used, how she worked so hard to convey her vision to the viewer, and you can FEEL how each piece was infused with her undying passion for her craft. I could not recommend visiting Whopaints more, and we plan on making more frequent trips just for her. What more could anyone ask for from a gallery?! Much love to...
