Now that the original H & H Bagels in the upper west side in New York Manhattan has permanently closed, Your ONLY choice on the East coast for a true remarkably amazing bagel is to get a Brooklyn Water Company bagel.
This is the true and original recipe brought down to the south warm refreshing weather of Florida. It doesn't matter what you get because everything is great. I had a lox sandwich, egg sandwich and many other menu items and the result was the same....AMAZING and addicting.
Also brought down from The Big Apple is the Egg Cream!! Forget about any other normal type of drink that you may get, the Egg Cream tantalizes your taste buds as you take a sip to give you this exotic experience!! The best part is that the ingredients are posted on the wall and tell you how to make your Egg Cream right in the "shop"!.
Now I did say "normal type of drink". Well I have another surprise! The coffee also made from the same water and is another AMAZING experience!. Not only is the coffee the best in town, but the ice cubes are made of coffee??? What you say? Yes! As the "Cubsta" ice (as they are called) melts, it doesn't water down the coffee, but only make it better! My niece says that it is the best iced coffee in all of the five cities of which she has lived!!
One more thing, when you bite into one of these bagels, your teeth sink into the super soft dough part of the bagel and then "Crunch!" the thin brown outer part of the bagel is perfectly toasted and crunches between your teeth, the texture and crispiness gives you that old school bagel taste of which bagel connoisseurs always hope to find.
All of the staff is super nice and well trained. You just might be lucky enough to have Tiffaney wait on you! She'll greet you with a big smile and if you're really nice to her, she will even make you her special way of preparing your iced coffee. Tiffaney is the manager and makes every customer feel valued and important.
Don't pass this place up...I drive out of my way just to go there and if you are in the Orlando area you have to stop by and get something even if it is to go and hurry because they close at 3:00pm most days.
I have only had great experiences and feel at home by going to the Brooklyn Water Bagel Company and I go quite often. I have eaten bagels at many of the other chains and have stopped going because I find myself craving that AMAZING bagel taste from The Brooklyn Water...
Read moreI have been a customer of Brooklyn water bagel and have had okay experiences. Every single time I’ve gone hours before closing and they have always run out of many different bagels. Today was an unfortunate experience leaving me completely dissatisfied. While waiting for our food, the people who ordered after us were approached and told one of the bagels they ordered, the Asiago, ran out. We also ordered an Asiago but right before, assuming ours was the last. the guy went to check what other bagels there was and they told him oh never mind we do have the Asiago and the guy sat back down. I then overheard the workers discussing how those in the basket were already sold before just waiting to be made. So 8 minutes later the manager goes back up to the people and tell him this. Then many minutes after, after we had been waiting a total of 20 minutes and many people who ordered after us received their food, we were then approached by the manager saying THEYRE OUT OF ASIAGO BAGELS. After the people who ordered after us had not only been told first, but also already received their food we were just now being informed???? When I question the manager on this she said oh it goes in ticket order, which makes no sense as an excuse because then ours obviously would’ve been before people who ordered after us. She made weak excuses saying they don’t have a tally system to keep track of bagels and the cashiers can’t know what the kitchen is grabbing. The same cashiers who make the sales?? It’s not a hard system to grasp and implement, many other bagel restaurants do this successfully. The cashiers can pay attention and take the sign of the certain bagel down once it’s sold. She finally brought us our food, after the people who ordered after us were finished eating and did give us a coupon for a free plain bagel or small coffee. Even though we had a much bigger order. When I picked up my bagel, there was a piece of ham underneath on my plate. I am a vegetarian so this was completely unacceptable. I pointed this out the manager yet again, informing her not only is their POS systems and cashier system a mess but the kitchen is also. She had no more excuses and just apologized. I told her I hope she would address these errors and I saw her walk back to the kitchen and not even talk to any employee. What a horrible way to start my Sunday full of excuses for horrible service and...
Read moreOrdered a simple bacon, egg cheese bagel at 9:20AM. Many people came in ordered and got their food ate and left while I was still waiting. Since I still haven’t gotten my food, by 9:50AM, I walked up and checked on my order, a very unconcerned guy with a “trainer” shirt on said, “no, they haven’t called you yet.” I explained that I ordered over 30 minutes ago and he nonchalantly said that there is a back up in the kitchen and walked away (no apology or anything). Again, other larger parties have ordered after me and got their meals. So I sit hoping my meal will be expedited now. Walked back up to the counter to check on my food at 10:10, still not ready. I asked for a refund. The cashier who originally took my order was unapologetic and walked away with no offer to check on my order. A young lady came over and just asked, “what did you have?” and began to process my refund. No apology or explanation, just “the kitchen is nuts today.” She gave me back $6 and change, when I paid almost $10 (suspicious). I had to pull up my bank transaction to show her. I explained that I have waited over 40 minutes and already checked once without an explanation and she just rolled her eyes and said, “I apologize.” No offer to remedy the situation except if I wanted a free drink. Then she asked me to come back on Monday and she would “buy” me a meal. We’ll, I already bought a meal that I did not even receive! No offer to quickly make it. Even if I did live close, I am here now and work during the week. I already explained that I do not live close and was excited to be able to stop in since I USED to love this place. Again, no remorse or sympathy or offer in that immediate moment to provide me something to eat. How about a cold bagel and cream cheese since I’m the only meal that can’t be made. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! The young lady said she was a manger. I’m just shocked that this is how your staff is trained to treat people and could care less that they failed. Wasted an hour of my...
