I rented demos; the equipment was fine. However, the experience was terrible. Incredibly slow and disorganized service. I rented my demo equipment online in advance. When I arrived, nothing was prepared or ready. I had to wait in the same lines as those who were walk-ins. There were 5 people in front of me, and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get out the door. It took 20 minutes to get to through the first line and for the cashier to find my order (she also took someone out of order). The next stop was the boot fitter. He chit-chatted excessively with everyone he helped, which was nice but wildly inefficient; other employees stood by and watched. I asked what the purpose of ordering in advance was since it did not in fact save me any time. He said “at least you got the 20% discount.” After 30 minutes going through the boot line, I finally got boots and moved to the ski fitting line. After another 15 minutes of waiting in line, two other employees finally jumped in to help move things along. The main ski fitter (i.e., the guy who adjusted bindings to fit the boots) laughed and joked with one couple for 15 minutes before completing the fitting. Overall, it was an unnecessarily slow experience, and it appeared the employees were very nice but completely oblivious to the fact that everyone waiting in line was getting more and more impatient. I returned my skis that day and rented from another...

Updated1/2022: Got into Winter Park for a ski vacation and stopped at Christy Sports. I had a boot fitting scheduled with Peter and could not be happier with the results. Peter is a combination of Midwest nice, being from WI, coupled with unbeatable knowledge and skill. My boots and skis are all based on Peter’s recommendations. We also needed to get my wife some rentals but that quickly evolved into a new pair of sale priced Liberty Genesis skis and Marker bindings. Bill got my wife set-up and had the skis ready to go later in the afternoon so she could hit the slopes the next morning. Also, and I realize that this can get political, but Christy Sports enforces a masking requirement which I appreciate both to keep their staff safe but also minimize the risk of their customers catching COVID in their store. Even a mild case could negatively impact a ski trip. Also got to say hi to Jim, the owner again, and pet his awesome German Shepherd which can often be found wondering the store. Took the edge off not seeing my own dogs who are back home. The Christy staff are great, and the service is top notch. If they are busy, be patient because their service is...
Read moreRenting mountain sports equipment for a large group with kids is always a bit of a hassle... and sometimes a big headache, especially when visiting from Europe. I'd like to thank their team for making it the best experience I ever had renting. The store stock is large and has a wide range of bikes from top tier downhill to children road bikes. They helped us choose the right ones and also included high quality helmets for free. The bikes were in great shape, both adults and kids enjoyed it. They helped us with a refund when we return one bike early. There was no drama for returning early morning the day after instead of the 5 PM closing hour. They told us that for long rentals we can talk in advance to agree on skip days . The store is well positioned right on the Fraser bike trail which goes for miles , just rent and ride . Prices are reasonable. We'll gladly return and...
