Royal Thai Cuisine - Orlando — Restaurant in Winter Park

We've been going to this restaurant for a long time, and i even became a regular customer, almost went every other day or on the weekend. I alway's felt welcome, and the service was a 10-10 all the time. Then I haven't a clue what happened, i seen new faces and they were not welcoming. I went this week and had a male older guy service us, he was rude, i would say Thank you, and he would not say your welcome, i asked for water did not give me none, mind you the other two women were rude as well. I miss Oil being there she was the BEST and the young man that works there super nice and very welcoming. So i was so fed up with this man's rudeness that i asked if the owner was there and he replied no he's not, so i felt so uncomfortable at this point that i didn't finish my food and just wanted to leave, when i went to pay, i asked the older lady who's the owner she said your server🤢🤮😳🙆🤦 could you imagine! So i told her he's super rude, I'm a regular customer, I've had the worst experience here tonight ever!!! She said we are short staff 🤷 excuse me! What does being polite have to do with short staff. And she's like you get what you get‼️‼️‼️😳🤮🤢🤦🤷 maybe soon we won't even be open. And by the way we never have complaints, of course not, you had other staff that was amazing. This new staff is the WORST ‼️‼️‼️‼️ I'm like not only is the Owner horrible, but the staff put the cherry on the cake. I'm beyond disappointed. My wife and I are regulars at Royal Thai, and for very good reasons. The food is excellent, always served promptly and always hot. The wide variety on the menu keeps everything fresh, and the flavor combinations are spectacular. I particularly love the Duck Curry and the Pad Khing, and as a vegan my wife is able to enjoy the Pad Thai minus the egg, and the Tofu Curry. I have yet to try a dish on the menu that hasn't been delicious.

The food is good enough to bring us back occasionally, but the service is exceptional and brings us back at least once a week. We are greeted by name and it is always a treat. We have had the pleasure to get to know the staff and there is no one in there that is not an absolute delight. Any review indicating that anyone in the restaurant was ever rude needs to be immediately discounted as that is absolutlely absurd. The staff at Royal Thai is the best!

The restaurant itself needs a little bit of renovation as it is an older building, but the food and service more than make up for the decor. That being said, the place is as authentic as authentic gets. I always feel bad for not knowing Thai when I walk in.

As a special treat at the end of your meal - try the fried bananas drizzled in honey paired up with the coconut ice cream. It's amazing - if you have room for it after the generous servings from dinner.

Love this place Me and my wife went for my birthday to try something different and holy smokes it was good. Seems small on the outside but very well organized inside. Didn't feel crowded despite most of the tables being occupied Got sat quickly, ordered a couple of sodas and a Thai iced coffee that was divine. I got a curry type dish and an order of the royal Thai fried rice, wife got the sweet and sour, and it was all delicious. Not always a big fan of jasmine rice, but in this case it really became part of the food and was just so good. Everything came out surprisingly quick, and it was clearly made when we ordered it. Just enough spices to know it's there without overwhelming you, but they also offered to make it spicier if I asked for it. I didn't this time, but I will eventually. And for the cost you get a good amount of food, and it tastes great even reheated. Server was quick on the take, attentive without being intrusive, and just an absolute pleasure to interact with. No idea what anything was, and she helped a GREAT deal in helping us find things to our tastes. My wife can be particular, but she loved everything she got and that says more than some understand.
