We came here with a large group, and were so excited to enjoy some drinks and snacks outside on the patio. The environment was beautiful, the food was great, and there were plenty of drink options. Unfortunately, there was low staff that day, so our large group (along with other incoming parties) seemed to overwhelm the staff. We tried to go the extra mile with patience and friendliness, as we did feel bad for bringing in such a large group unannounced. The server was quite stand-offish, even going to the other tables and "apologizing for us" by calling us out - saying we were the reason for slow service. At a certain point he just stopped asking if we wanted drinks, so we started going to the bar inside. He had a bad attitude the entire time, and no amount of kindness or sympathy seemed to fix it. Maybe we caught him on a bad day, but the pity party for dealing with a large party got really old. We tip well and weren't obnoxious or rude, so the poor treatment was uncalled for. Again, I understand we could've called beforehand to give a heads up, but it was a spur of the moment decision and that doesn't justify treating us poorly. If you have a small group, you'll probably have a fine time, but I'd think twice about coming with a...
Read moreWouldn’t recommend, especially toward the end of ski season. We visited on a Friday night (April 10th) and had one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.
From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed checked out and indifferent. We were greeted by a woman sitting at a table who didn’t bother to stand. At the bar, the bartender was completely disengaged. She told a friend of hers she “couldn’t wait to lock herself in her house and not talk to anyone.” She was “over it” (in her words) and it showed.
Service aside, the cleanliness wasn’t ideal either. My cocktail had floaters in it, and when I asked for a second bowl to split a salad, I was handed a dirty dish with food still stuck to it.
As we finished, we told the bartender we’d get out of their hair. The response was simply, “It’s been one of those days.” No apology. No acknowledgment of how unacceptable the experience was. Just complete indifference.
We watched others come and leave after one interaction — it was clear from the beginning. My mistake was staying.
Save yourself the time and money. Go somewhere where they hire...
Read moreMy wife, mother and law, and kids went to winter park for a fun mountain bike experience. We stopped at stoneys for lunch and we are excited about the nice atmosphere outside only to be treated horribly by ALL of the staff there. Our server who was also apparently a manager who just took over from a Denver location was not so friendly taking our order and almost acted like we were a burden.. another girl, who I think was a food runner brought us the wrong appetizer and when we kindly let her know we ordered something else, she gave us big attitude and said well this is what’s available! And walked away.. even the people next to us asked what had happened cause they over heard it all. When they told their server we were having troubles with our server, she said maybe you guys should be nicer to us! I really honestly feel like we were not being rude at all. The customer service there was really truthfully not friendly. Being in the service Industry myself - I was appalled. Food was decent, but over priced. nice...
