Where to start... First, when we walked in they had broken down cardboard boxes on the floor for people to walk on instead of mat's. I understand that they didn't want people to slip and fall, but it looked very trashy. Second, it was absolutely freezing inside, and we were not even sitting that close to the door. It honestly felt like they had the heat We kept our coats on the entire time we were eating, and there were others doing the same thing.
Now, on to the food... The pizza was very mediocre. Add on top of that the fact that our pizza had a medium sized piece of plastic that was baked into the cheese. When we informed our waitress about the piece of plastic, she tried to play it off like it was no big deal. She said, "It must just be a piece of the bag that the cheese comes in, I bet when they cut the bag open it fell onto the pizza.", like that makes it okay.
The service... Our waitress was not great. The place was not very busy at all, but there were times when our glasses were empty and she would walk right past our table without getting a refill. Also, I had to ask for a side of ranch multiple times before she finally brought it. After asking for the second time, she was standing around talking to a co-worker before bringing it while I was waiting to eat.
Overall... The pizza (the parts without plastic) was mediocre. The service was sub par. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and felt dirty with old cardboard boxes on the floor. On a positive note, they did not charge us for the pizza due to the plastic. We will not be going back to Alex's, which is a shame, because I was expecting...
Read moreI've taken food out from here many times. The restaurants' sit-in is closed. However, you may eat outside with your carryout. I took ours home. My friend usually gets the spaghetti and meat sauce, which he really enjoys. It came with a package of parmesian cheese along with some hot bread. I get the rib snack; it includes coleslaw, bread, fries, and condiments. I usually take a few forkfuls of the coleslaw and give the rest to my friend. This time, I took one bite and gave him the rest. I didn't say anything about the taste, waiting to see what he thought. After mixing it, he took a big bite and then didn't eat it! It was full of vinegar! He said he thought an old woman made it. (they sometimes are heavy-handed with the vinegar). My ribs were more than the usual 5. The bones were soft, liked boiled first. The pieces were full of the additional white bones; which I don't eat. The meat on topside was very tough in parts, which was partially not edible. If this had been my first visit, I probably would not go back. However, it wasn't, and I believe it was truly just a rare off night. Based on my previous delicious experiences.
Oh, yes, we shared a very healthy size piece of Tiramasùe which was 😋 delicious. The cream was rich and full. I loved it! I even enjoyed it by taking a bite and eating just a layer at a time. It was divine, and each layer had its own distinct flavor. Yum Yum.
I'll go back, and I feel confident in recommending...
Read moreRead moreEasily the worst pizza I've had, frozen or right out the oven. I ordered a round from here within the last year and thought it was completely average. This time around we attempted the square just to see if that was where this review hype train was. Welp, not only was it not it but it was awful. Sausage is clearly frozen and the taste tells you that. I had to eat the corners just due to the fact that there was only cheese on the what seemed to be perfectly cooked crust but that was floppy and not crisp in any way. She quote, "cannot eat it." So a 30$ pizza had threes slices ate from it. Couldn't even pretend to enjoy it. I am truly not sure what is going on, if these reviews on here are legit. But for any place with, "italian favorites," and named Pizzeria you shouldn't be using frozen ingredients nor serve what I purchased last night. Stomach has been messed up since eating it last night. Three stars because I hate to hurt a local business but honestly the pizza deserves a 1 star. Someone in the brass here has got to know what they're serving is not it and they can do better. Absolute trash and that's where it went. There is no way people come here for the pizza and if they do I'm terribly worried about the taste buds in their mouths. I imagine takeout and dining in is the same food...never again and I hope the upgrade because calling this a Pizzeria is an...
