Worst Experience Ever - A $150 Disappointment

Review:

I recently placed a large order worth $150 from Calcutta Wok in Edison, NJ on August 22nd, and it was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. I ordered multiple vegetarian dishes, expecting a variety of flavors and quality, but what I received was a total disaster.

First off, the Manchow soup was practically inedible - it was so salty that it could have passed for seawater. The fried rice, which I ordered in different varieties, all tasted exactly the same. They were overloaded with peas and lacked any distinct flavors. To top it off, the Manchurian was incredibly dry, making it difficult to even finish a bite.

After forcing ourselves to eat what we could, we ended up feeling sick to our stomachs. I'm shocked at how poor the quality was, especially considering the price I paid. Unfortunately, I had to throw everything away.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was too awful to ignore. I would strongly advise anyone considering this place to think twice - there are far better options...

Calcutta Wok serves some of the most authentic Indo-Chinese flavors I’ve had in a long time. Their noodles are perfectly cooked, full of fresh veggies, and loaded with the right balance of spices. Portions are generous and pricing feels fair for the quality. Service was friendly and fast, and the chilli chicken is absolutely a must-try. A great spot for anyone craving flavorful, comfort-style Indo-Chinese food and their lunch specials — each one comes with soup, rice, and a main dish, and you get plenty of variety (veg, tofu, chicken, shrimp) so everyone in the group can find something they like. My chili paneer combo was flavorful and fresh, the spice level was good.The portion was satisfying, and even though it was busy, the staff was efficient. The food gives you homely feel of indo-Chinese cuisine from India. The only place we found that is very close to the taste back home.

The restaurant is based inside a plaza in the second floor with multiple shops in the same place. Good place to try out definitely.
