I ordered the dabeli pav at ChatKatz for $8+tax. The pav they used was very good and not the typical hard grocery store and was closer to the Hot Breads feel. While my dish had the standard base flavor of a dabeli pav, the filling was drippy instead of being more firm. It was basically falling out the back as you bit into it. It also had way too much garam masala and garlic. Even hours after eating the dabeli pav, I had a lingering garlic-y aftertaste in my mouth. I also looked at other tables that had ordered the kathiyawadi thali and it looked quite disappointing - including the phulka which did not resemble the typical Gujarati style in terms of thinness. For dabeli pav, my favorite continues to be Hot Breads in Edison (other locations are franchisees and terrible) and for Gujarati thali in the same Edison area, I would rather go to Khushboo (call ahead as they are closed sometimes) which is across from Hot Breads. If you want the absolute Gujarati and Kathiyawadi thalis - then Kathiyawadi Kitchen in Sayerville is the top place in Jersey. Be prepared to wait as there are no reservation and the restaurant is packed with 1-1.5 hours wait at certain times.

We drove long way to this place. And when we found this type of food court. it was quiet shocking. They have done a great effort to make such a theme. Since it is over crowded probably they have to look for a bigger place. Coming to the chatkaz, we had dal bati, which was awesome unfortunately the guju thali had some issues, one of the subzi was spoiled they immediately replaced the second one, but then i cancelled the order.... thanks guys! But need to improve in hygiene factor alone.

Snacks are the best here… specially people from Mumbai… we took Vadapao & Samosas… they’re awesome… common sitting area sometimes makes it’s difficult hear the call when you’re food is ready … parking available… no free water… better to carry some

We have been their regular customer for about more than 8 years. Last weekend I recommended my friends to order from them for our Diwali party. There was a mis-match in one item in order, and the person who took order was adamant that they sent the right item. So it was a classic example of he said she said. I was expecting a higher level of customer service because we order from them regularly. But given that the party had already started we just ordered a new item again. I had to send someone to pick the item and the item (kadi pakora) that was sent wasn’t good quality. No one ended up eating it.

The whole experience was very upsetting. I tried to go talk to him today but he wasn’t in the restaurant. At this point, just going to leave it that they lost me as a customer. My recommendation to all is be sure before paying to pickup what u order. The sad part is such people get away with it even though they are in the service industry. I have recommended them to so many people and now they lost those...

Have ordered Poha from here before and liked it and so placed a Doordash order again and it was canceled after 20 mins. Upon calling the restaurant, the lady on the phone said that the Doordash tablet is locked and that she’d call her boss for the password and asked me to place the order again after 30 mins. After 30 mins, rather than placing the order, I called her first to check if the tablet is working, to which she said No and asked me to place the same order on Uber Eats. I placed the order on Uber Eats which was again canceled after 20 mins and when I called her, she had no answer.

Just having good food some times is not enough, customer service does play a very important role in the success...
