Estrela Da Serra BBQ — Restaurant in Woodbridge Township

This used to be our favorite bbq spot... butTonight I called to place an order and waited on hold for 10 minutes (we know they get busy, so no problem there!) But when the woman finally picked up the phone she had a horrible attitude. A family member of mine has multiple food allergies - including corn and dairy. I asked if their meat was cooked in butter and what kind of oil they use in the fryer. Both of these questions seemed simple enough, and it's necessary information to know if my family member could consume the food. The woman told me that those are "questions to ask the boss or the health department". I figured she was confused at what I was asking, and so I reiterated my question and explained I was inquiring due to food allergies. She only repeated what she had previously told me, but was obviously becoming more frustrated. I said "I just have to know what type oil it is.... vegetable, canola?" She interrupted me and said she could not disclose that information but then said "we have customers waiting so do you want the food or no?". Terrible customer service. She obviously didnt know the answer to my questions, but also made no effort to find out. Im not sure why she thought i should call the health department in regards to ingredients that their restaurant uses for the food? Horrible attitude...So so rude. Such a shame, will definitely not be ordering from...

I promised my son to search Google for the best BBQ place that we can try and this place did not disappoint, whatsoever! We specifically drove 45 minutes and it was so worth it.

The gentleman at the counter who took our order was more than helpful and courteous. My son and I both looked at the menus and each other and ordered the same, smoked chicken & ribs combo. The man who helped us (I think the owner), suggested just one order would be sufficient to share. This honest man just took away half of his business, as we were gladly placing two orders, however, the combination of his brutal honesty and the phenomenal food quality and quantity, is what prompted me to write this.

I would highly recommend anyone that desires quality smoked BBQ with paramount service, to TRY THIS UNASSUMING PLACE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. It will not disappoint and it’s obvious why they have the highest google ratings.

There was no seating inside (perhaps due to Covid), but my son and I went out to the car and devoured this smoked deliciousness, like two wild animals, lol! Memories that will last a lifetime.

Listen. I have been going to this place for years! We love it here and we’ve ordered trays for multiple family events and just for dinner plenty of times. Today however, my husband went to pick up the food and the man had a terrible attitude. I had also gone a couple weeks ago and he also had a bad attitude with me. I lets it slide because he usually is not like that and we love the food. However, today our food was cold when my husband brought it home and the French fries were stale! This has never happened to us before with this restaurant. The man on the phone said 20 minutes. My husband left 10 minutes after I placed the order and we live 10 minutes away from the restaurant. There is no reason why the food should be cold. It is very upsetting as we come to you guys often and have suggested our friends and family to go to you guys. I will not give less than 4 stars in hopes this is a one off situation. But I hope it changes and the man in the front taking orders changes...
