Really wish i could give less than 1 star... i now realize as an oregonian why i always goto sheris instead. I didnt goto sharis this time because it was 5 miles off the interstate. Big mistake.
Firstly, ill give credit where its due. the staff who greats you was about the only thing i can say was pleasant.
The place was half packed. Not near full... we get sat next to a jumbo corner table with 5 children ranging from 2 to 10 ish. The whole time from seating to paying our bill these kids were mosters. Screaming at the top of their lungs, banging silverware off the table, at one point the little boy was actually standing barefoot on the table. Literally, everyone in the place was fed up. I even noticed the manager look over multiple times. Why nothing was said is beyond me, this is standar practice when you have a group of 6 ruining the experience for 30 other paying customers. Obviously, the children themself wasnt the problem of dennys but how they handled the children or the lack there of is my issue.
On to the food.. 2 of the 3 orders placed at my table were incorrect, which i normally would have mentioned but between waiting 45 mins for our food and the table next to us being rude, i didnt want to be there another extra minute. The waitress was average, serviceable. Nothing special. She wasnt rude, refills were on time. Not sure if order gaff was her or the cook. The food wasnt very good either, i ordered a sampler which is chicken strips, cheese sticks and fries. My order, should have been the quickest of the group ended up coming out 10 mins after the rest of my tables food. It was terrible to boot. I got 2 of the saddest chicken strips I have ever seen, the were both the size of a vienna sausage. The cheese sticks werent cooked right. The outside wasnt crispy at all. These 2 items should be made with 100% succession, if yoir cooks cant nail chicken strips and cheese sticks, you got real issues.
Miscellaneous: one of the servers (not ours) got into it with a cook at the window. Nothing too crazy but you could clearly hear them arguing. This place wasnt the cleanest, many flies buzzing about.
My review, stay far away... go the extra 5 miles and get some sharis.
All in all this place has potential, good location, newer decor. But until they get a staff that cares and has some passion this place will...
Read moreThis place is old but all dennys restaurants are old and dated these days. They have someone taking payments at the door and one guy seating people. They have no wait and two groups including us and he takes our name down just to seat us. Kind of an odd waste of time while we stand around. Kind of an odd thing but I could get past that till they seated us. We can see the staff in the kitchen playing around. I finally order my country fried steak and eggs and I'm told that I only get one pancake for the first time at any Denny's. So I said something about how that is the first time anyone has ever said that to me and he tells me it is that way because they are a franchise. I really thought that was a bit odd. Just because they are a franchise doesn't mean I should get less food. The quality of the food was also sub part when I got it. My country fried steak was smaller and barely lukewarm. It wasn't even hot and it tasted nasty. Dennys is not the greatest but at least the one on 82nd in happy valley cooks the food properly and doesn't try to skimp on the quantity of food. I asked for scrambled eggs. They tried I guess but they were too lazy to beat them up before they cooked them. They broke the eggs, started cooking them and just chopped them up. Just fyi the country fried steak was very small and clearly was freezer burned. This place is a disgraceful slop house of people that barely speak English that play and are unprofessional and do a poor job all the way around. It is a family that started a business and just hired the whole family that has no clue how to run a restaurant. You end up with a poor mess of people that need to get a job in a business they have a clue about. They need to hire people with some experience or at least hire someone decent to train them. Until they do I would avoid this dump at all costs. My wife just reminded me that I forgot to add that the country fried steak that we both had also tasted like french fries and cheese sticks. The oil in the deep frier clearly doesn't get changed or filtered or both. That may be why it just tasted extra nasty like it had...
Read moreThis is by far the WORST Denny’s I have ever been to & the most disappointed I have felt after purchasing a meal.
Our family was unable to eat together because All 6 meals arrived at different times, the last of them arrived 15 minutes after the others had been delivered. It was obvious that the cooks simply overlooked it.
HOWEVER!!! This is the least of my concerns. My daughter ordered Sirloin & Mashed Red Potatoes with steamed Broccoli. The “sirloin” steak looked awful… It was room temperature & looked like someone’s leftovers. The potatoes were also room temperature, runny & sour! Clearly they added a spoiled ingredient or found these potatoes in the back shelf of some refrigerated hell. Also, The broccoli was Ice cold & looked like it was from a leftover meal. When we voiced our concerns the waitress agreed then promptly returned the plate to the kitchen…. THIS IS WHAT I FIND DISAPPOINTING- The manager was in the kitchen and she told the cooks to just “replate & send back” (I should mention that during this time she(manager) was also doing some above dusting around & over food areas.) Needless to say my daughter’s food returned in the same disappointing condition and somehow even more cold.
My son ordered a disappointing salmon with the same disgusting, runny, red mashed potatoes. My son quickly took a bite, then quickly had to leave to table to spit his food out in the restroom. My wife smelled the food and AGAIN it was clearly spoiled.
As a family we found our waitress to be sympathetic and apologetic about the poor cooking and service. She was helpful and was likely the only acceptable part of our visit. But sadly the same cannot be said about management or the kitchen staff. The kitchen staff had a unprofessional dress code, lacked hair nets (I didn’t order hair with that omelette) & quite frankly they did not care about the quality of food they were serving.
We were offered a 20% discount & by the managers face she was clearly unhappy about this. I do NOT recommend this Dennys & would be surprised if it could pass a...
