Okay, now I don't typically write reviews for restaurants online (this is the 2nd one I have ever done). This new location is near my home, and I wanted to go and try it out, so I did. I ordered an Acai Bowl and after I ordered it, I sat there waiting for over 15 minuets for my food. After about 25+ minuets I was finally informed that I had to pay first and then they would make my bowl in the back. The female employees who assisted myself and the person I went to the restaurant with never informed me of this. So, they took my order, but never informed me that I needed to pay first in order receive my food. As a brand-new customer how am I supposed to know to pay first if no one tells me? Since, unlike the salads they don't make the acai bows in front of you. I could tell that over half the teenagers working there were new employees and there was a lack of communication between them, their seasoned or higher up employees and the customers. Now, I've worked in fast-food/food service before and communication is always key when you work in customer service and are serving hungry, sometimes hangry customers, especially brand-new customers. You always want to make sure you have clear communication when a new customer enters your store or drive thru. A good tactic as an employee is to inquire if the customer has tried that place before or not and then give some suggestions. Lastly, the size of my Acai bowl was definitely NOT worth almost $13!! I truly felt like it was a rip off, I can make the same thing at home for much cheaper and/or get a better deal for my money and more food at Chipotle, (which I love!) a bowl from there is always two meals for me, and $9-11, compared to $12/almost $13 for a tiny acai bowl, with...
Read moreMy family placed an online order and then went to pick it up. There was approximately 10 minutes between us clicking submit on the order and picking it up. I wish we had opened the bag and looked at our food before leaving the restaurant, because if we had, we would have asked for an immediate refund. All the food we received was poor quality.
I paid extra to get avocado on my salad. See the picture for the small amount of “avocado” that was put on my salad. The fact that an employee at this restaurant looked at this “avocado” and deemed it appropriate for human consumption and of sufficient quality to place on a salad, makes me question the quality of every other aspect of the restaurant as well. If this is what they openly give to a customer, imagine what goes on and into their food that a customer can’t see?
I understand that avocados are finicky fruits, but I would have preferred to be told that they were out of stock than be given a piece of food that had obviously turned bad. Other components of my salad were of subpar quality as well.
I called the restaurant multiple times that evening after opening my salad, and the phone was never answered. I also submitted a form on their website in an attempt to contact them, and did not receive a response from that contact attempt either.
Don’t waste your time or money patronizing this restaurant. Poor quality food and service.
ETA: My online inquiry submitted out of public view and phone calls to the restaurant went unaddressed, but when I post a public review, they suddenly reply within 2 hours on a weekend. That’s telling as to how they actually handle (and care about or don’t care about)...
Read moreC&G, we’re breaking up. I’m sorry to do this, but it’s you, it’s not me. I’ve given you 2-3 years of chances. Between the Grand Avenue location and this location, you all just cannot pull it together. You have got to nail down some consistency in portion sizes, correct orders, and quality of food. Hello, hard as rock squash in the squash goals bowl. Or the portion so small it wouldn’t feed my cat. Or, hey, who cares if they ordered a pep in your step—she probably really wanted a Greek bowl—let’s give them that tonight. Quite frankly, I don’t care if you’re training new staff. It’s always the excuse for a poor order. Are you discounting your food and service because you’re training staff? No, you are not. Should I be expected to just keep shrugging off wrong orders? Nope. Should I be able to depend on a consistent potion size to feed my family dinner on a busy weeknight? Yes, I should. These are salads people. We place an order, you read the order, and then make the salads. It’s quite simple, yet, it seems so impossible for you all to get right. There is a reason Sweetgreens is killing your business. They get it right every...
