I went in looking for a specific beer. When I didn't see it on the shelf I asked if they had more in back. I was told they only got a few cans in and it was a limited release. Instead of holding the cans behind the counter, they hide them throughout the store, THE WHOLE STORE, and expect people to rummage around like idiots, looking behind bottles of wine etc. I tried to play along for about a minute before I realized that you could do this for hours. I asked again to make sure they genuinely did have one left. They told me that to be the best of their knowledge they did. Even though I am (WAS) a regular customer there, and was buying several other bottles, they wouldn't sell me the beer unless I spent the afternoon scurrying around like a rat. I wonder how many others they will piss off, or how many bottles of liquor will break as people try to reach over and around wine bottles on the top or bottom shelf. Most other stores in the same situation would just hold the beer behind the counter until a customer asked for it. In this case, the beer had been there for several days and no one had found it. So, here I am, wanting to spend money, as a member of their Rewards program for frequent customers, and they won't sell me the beer even though they know where it is and I specifically asked for it. I'm done shopping there. They didn't want my money that day, they won't get it any...
Read moreI'm really surprised by this entire cities demeanor and decided to review business in woodbury. Just moved to the area and I have never felt so profiled in MY LIFE.
About 3 weeks ago we visited this store, the closest to our new place. When I entered, I witness a man walk to the counter AND NOT GET CARDED. Paid, then left. After collecting all my purchases, my partner and i walked to the counter. I picked out a 1.75 of Jameson and 12 pack of cans. my partner had not picked up or TOUCHED ANYTHING the whole mind you. Upon reaching the counter, I set my purchases down, used their hand sanitizer and pulled out my wallet. Before I could finish, the associate asked if I was paying cash or card (which didn't matter, the were not accepting cash anyway) then immediately asked not for MY ID, he asked for HERS, she OLDER THAN MYSELF. Since when do you ask a patron that hasn't not touched alcohol to she ID? I questioned the man briefly and we left empty handed. No need to buy from people like that. I would say what my belief is that caused this behavior but I stay reserved. Situation aside, if it was my teenage daughter under the same circumstance, all good? Laws only apply when its a direct minor or the associate can prove their not? Definitely a double-darker standard up...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came to purchase some alcohol from top ten. He went inside to purchase as I was waiting for him in the car, he came back outside and told me that I had to go inside and show my ID to them when I was sitting in the vehicle or they would refuse the purchase. I did not step foot inside of the liquor store. I have never had a liquor store assume/or made anyone/(passenger) come out of their vehicle to go inside the store to show their ID when they werenât purchasing anything from them. When I asked why they were making me come inside to show ID, they said somethingâs along the line of third party. So you were assuming I was underage and he was purchasing alcohol for me? We saw others that had people sitting in their vehicles and purchasing alcohol and no one stopped to ask them to come inside to show IDs. So do you make everyone do that? Never again will I be...
