I live in Silverdale and have a friend that lives in Camano, she usually comes down to my place and we eat at Fujiyama's Japanese Steakhouse here in Silverdale regularly. This time we decided to find a hibachi place in the middle and meet half way, and found ourselves here at Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse. I don't know if I've just been absolutely spoiled by Fujiyama but this place just fell extremely short. The prices were INSANELY high Then they charge a 20% "service fee" (tip) on top of their high prices. I love to tip, I have nothing against it, but adding it in automatically instead of giving me the choice to give less or more depending on the service recieved feels dubious. Apparently there is a sign by the entrance that states their 20% service fee, but it's out of the way and I didn't even see it until on my way out. The food was sub-par, one of my shrimp had an after taste of mold and the "veggie mix" is mostly onion and celery. You're lucky if you get more than a few mushrooms and carrots. The man who took our order was pretty short and didn't even ask how we like our meat cooked When the chef put on his "show" he talked really low like he was talking to himself and when my boyfriend tried to interact with his gambit, he didn't even acknowledge his presence. We got there at opening so it wasn't busy at all, but we still felt rushed to finish as the man came by with our check right after the chef finished making our food, and started taking dishes while some of us were still eating. He also had a heavy accent and the fans were loud, so he got snappy with us when we asked him to...

I was really expecting a lot more from this restaurant and found it lacking in its appearance, menu and food quality (for the high cost). I would never eat here again. The food variety and quality is so much better at any mongolian grill.

Having lived in Woodinville/Kirkland for over ten years, I have seen lots of groups of people going into this place for years not knowing what it was. I get it now, it is different than other restaurants; the chef at the table throws a few shrimp in diners mouth for entertainment. Still the location looks dirty, there are boxes and things piled up all around and the carpet and restroom look in desperate need of remodeling. At the very least, the restaurant needs a total gut job and a remodel similar to Chan's place just around the corner. It is also REALLY loud inside the restaurant and mostly full of groups coming (ostensibly) for the benihana style presentation.

For roughly 50.00 a person you get a chicken broth soup, salad and a mongolian grill style entree without all the options and sauces you are able to get at any mongolian grill. The food was so bland and lacked spice or the ability to add flavor with sauces . The "vegetables" grilled in were onions, carrots and maybe another two items without any pineapple, bean sprouts, jalapeno, peppers, baby corns, water chestnuts etc. you usually see mixed in to this kind of fare. We ordered dinner for three adults and two glasses of wine (total) for 2/3 guests and the bill was $184. I would have much preferred opting for Irene's Thai Cuisine or Fogo De Chao. I would NEVER recommend coming...

Horrible service. Going to this restaurant was the worst mistake I’ve ever made. We walk into this restaurant, sit down, and everything’s going great, but as soon as he started cooking I had lost my appetite. He wipes the stove with a dirty microfiber and scrapes off all the char. The table looked at each other in disgust. I mean are we really paying a %20 service fee for this!? But that’s not even the worst part! The check arrived so we took a look at it and had a few questions about the charges which we proceed to ask about. We ask the owner and he starts screaming and being very aggressive, he says “even if you call the police they won’t do anything about these charges” when we never mentioned anything about calling the police! He says “on the front door it says that there will be a %20 service charge” which is also known as a tip. We payed a $32 tip. If I’m going to be completely honest I only finished my food because of the price. The owner was unbelievably...

This is a great local place for hibachi. The food is good the cooks are very good at what they do. The servers leave a little bit more to be desired depending on who you get. And one recommendation would be to clean up all the boxes and open the bar back up again or at least make it decent. It's an average looking restaurant. it just needs to be spruced up with some paint and decorations and better lighting. Also picking up all the boxes and stuff stacked in full View in the back section. I'm surprised the owner isn't self-aware on this although he's a good guy. Also it's important to mention that they charge an automatic 20% gratuity so you can go in knowing that and not get mad later on

Please don’t go to this please they are big Rip off. Very bad service and they charge Gratuity accordingly to them. We paid $32 top of the bill.and gratuity is not a law or any tax all the restaurants are forcing us to pay that much tip. Prices are high and crew was not friendly. When I asked the owner about the gratuity he got aggressive & loud with me. So, please don't waste your money and time better find another good restaurant. I didn't have a choice but I want save you to waste your money here on bad service and bad food. I wish they would have stars in negative. I don't have a choice otherwise don't even deserve a single star..

These are always fun. The food is to die for. Don't get too close so you don't lose your eyebrows when they light up their pyro parts of the show. Birthdays and anniversaries are a great time to visit. I recommend you Practice your catching skills with some popcorn or something. This time was the most fun I'd ever had at dinner. We had our chef laughing so much I'm pretty sure I heard him laughing in the kitchen after he was done :)
