TL;DR: refreshing drinks, don't get 100% sweetness (skip to Sweetness Levels bit in this review), get light ice. A bit on the pricey side for how much you get.
Parking: small shared lot.
Atmosphere: small shop, limited seating, more of a grab and go kind of place.
Menu: drink names listed on menu with no description but the name itself is indicative of the flavor. Menus are posted on exterior of shop, at the register, and on the digital screen behind the register. Drinks do not come with toppings unless listed. Toppings are extra. Drinks are on the pricey side -- if you get an iced drink, I suggest you get light ice because you want to get your money's worth and not pay for half a cup of space-hogging ice.
Service: friendly and honest! Order and pay at the register, wait for your order to be called and pick up to the left of the register behind the fish waffle case. You can choose ice levels, additional toppings, and adjust sweetness levels (30%, 50%, 75%, 100%).
Sweetness Levels: I'm all for a well balanced cup of bubble tea that isn't too overpowering in sugar levels to the point where your teeth jump ship from decay immediately after finishing your drink. So, I inquired about the recommended sugar level for the Pink Guava Spring Tea. It was recommended that I get 30% sugar level because the guava syrup is really sweet to begin with. 30% sugar level is about 30g of sugar, while 50% and 75% is about 50g and 80g of sugar. Wowza. That would be approximately 2 cans of soda condensed into your cup. I'm not as extremely health conscious as I should be, but a tiny brain cell in the back of my mind told me not to "go big or go home". I chose 30%, which was still really sweet in my opinion. I can't imaging going the full 100 -- might as well just should out, "I'd like a cup of liquid diabetes, please!" :)
Pink Guava Spring Tea: honestly not too impressed with the guava flavor, I was expecting a more exotic taste but it tasted more like sugar water. I was told there is no tang at all due to the nature of the flavoring syrup -- it's just sweet. Tasted more like a hint of guava in sweetened green tea. Now don't get me wrong, it could just simply be that I opted for 30% sugar and that's why there was a lack of guava flavoring. In the future, I will get a fruity drink with some sort of tang in it to balance the sugary flavor -- I think I'll try the passion fruit flavor next time.
Coconut Jelly Topping: not very sweet at all but adds a satisfying chew to each sip. Very lightly flavored if at all. It's more of a texture addition to your drink rather than a flavor addition. I highly recommend it for fruity drinks since the drink is already sweet. No need to add sweet toppings, just add the coconut jellies for texture.
Fish Waffles: no filling, just original egg waffle flavor or chocolate waffle flavors. I didn't order it but got clarification that there is no filling.
Overall, at least for this visit, nothing really stood out to me for this bubble tea joint. Pretty average flavored fruit tea. But I'll give it another shot next time around and see if anything...
Read moreTealogy used to be our favorite spot for bubble tea, especially for the tiger sugar pearl milk tea. We've had it countless times and know exactly how it should taste—rich, bold tea with just the right amount of sweetness from the tiger sugar-soaked pearls.
Unfortunately, over the past few months, the quality has noticeably declined. The tea flavor has become weaker, almost as if it's been diluted with too much water. The pearls also lack the signature sweetness they once had. It’s possible they weren’t soaked long enough, but given that we purchased our drinks around 2pm, they should have had ample time to absorb the flavor. Alternatively, it may be that less sugar is being used.
Whatever the case, both the tea and pearls need improvement. Please ensure all staff are following the original recipe, as the consistency has not been the same for quite some time. Really hoping the owner takes this to heart as I want this store to succeed! I would be happy to revise this review if the quality...
Read moreWe've been going here for years but ever since Jalani left (one of their ex-employees) the quality and taste has gone downhill. The following times we've come after she left tealogy, the taste has been bland and bitter. We've told them it's not how it usually tastes but they said they would have to charge extra just to add more sweetness, which is absurd because the drink did not taste like how it used to taste or even drinkable.
Response to owner: we appreciate you reading this but even before we knew Jalani, we were regulars coming in every week. The drinks we ordered never had to be adjusted for more sweetness. We didn’t have a personal relationship with her, we only learned her name right before she left. Even then, we never asked for more sugar or asked for a drink to be remade because the drinks were made perfectly. Even before we knew her name, the drinks were fine as they were.
(We've spent over $400 here over the last 2 years but ever since their service and quality changed...
