Bob Evans — Restaurant in Woodlawn

I write reviews often, simply because I read reviews often. I am always honest about all parts of an experience, the good and sometimes not so good. I have to say, I wish I could give this review 10 stars!! I ordered a DoorDash delivery from Bob Evans (where, by the way, we eat from at minimum 3 times per month and it's always fantastic!) and when the order arrived, I immediately noticed the chicken in my chicken caesar salad was undercooked. I had never encountered this before, and unsure of what to do since it was a DoorDash delivery, I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager, April. She not only had a new salad made, she got in her car and delivered it to my home, as I ordered DoorDash, because I didn't have use of the car today. There are not many places that have this type of service. I was surprised and VERY GRATEFUL that she would do this. This is a level of service that is extremely uncommon and that I had never experienced before. Along with the new salad, they also included a complimentary order of their delicious fresh baked banana bread, and inside of the container for that, was an apology note from April and Cat, along with $20 in gift cards to the restaurant. I can not express how they go above and beyond for their customers. I had not even told them that we eat from Bob Evans as often as we do. With that being said, yes, the chicken was undercooked this one time out of countless perfectly cooked orders. Please don't let that affect you dining there, as people make mistakes, sometimes. Its all in how you handle it and rectify the situation that counts. And, above and beyond is an understatement! I would HIGHLY recommend eating here. The food is always fantastic, as you know now, the staff and management are willing to go above and beyond for you. Thank you so much April and Cat!! I work there and it's a great place. The vibe is positive and the people are amazing they enjoy what they do and always make sure the customers are happy and treat the customers the way they should be treated it's one of the best restaurants around I love working there and I just started and I already absolutely love it. And the food is amazing it's all homemade and I'm serious they hand make every thing the bread biscuits sausage gravy every thing and I mean every thing is preped and home cooked there soups everything I would highly recommend coming there to eat if your looking for a good home cooked meal and don't feel like cooking you won't regret it. And they are very reasonable in the cost plus you get so much food for a very low price. I mean a full course meal with triple the food then you would get anywhere else it's better and cheaper. And I'm not just saying that because I work there. Even before I worked there this answer would still be the same cause I would choose bob Evans over any restaurant around there. Walked in with 4 adults and a 3 year old. Took 15 minutes to place our order. The waitress was new and has to come back several times to ask about our order. It was not a difficult order, Kid's pancake, two salads, a breakfast platter and a waffle. After about 35 minutes we complained that we are were waiting for our order and the 4 year old was waiting for his pancake. During ordering one of our party explained that she was lactose intolerant and did not want cheese on her salad. After 40 minutes and only 3 other tables in the restaurant our food arrived piece meal. First the child's pancakes arrived, then my waffle. No syrup. The the salad ordered with no cheese was delivered with cheese. It also came with a half (round) chicken breast that was supposed to be diced on the salad. Once the salad was returned the waitress returns with a soup that is ice cold. We complain, ask for a manager who does not come out and then the returned salad is delivered and it is not the right salad and still has cheese. So one of our party gets up and speaks to the manager. He says they are a new crew and the are swamped (3 other tables). Manager apologizes gives a discount, gives us the soup to go (hot) and the salad is given to us and for the third time still has CHEESE! I will never step foot in this restaurant again.
