It has been a very long time since I have been to Chans. Plenty of street parking and a giant free lot just for Chans directly across the street. I am pretty sure that this restaurant is older than me. I parked across the street. After getting out of the Mystery Machine it is impossible not to notice the very beautiful, well kept Asian facade on the building. You immediately get those old school vibes. Before you even enter they proudly have signage on the door that they take pride in hand making their Egg Rolls. The excitement begins. Walking in you see some spectacular Asian decor. Some of the art made with different materials takes up whole walls. It was like stepping back in time. They also had pictures up of famous people that have performed or visited, kinda like a Rhode Island Kowloon in a way. I had good intentions on only getting a few things, I'm doing pretty well losing weight. However a good Chinese menu to me is probably like 50 Shades of Gray to a desperate housewife. Side note, if anyone wants to tie me up and have their way with me feeding me Chinese food we can make a Netflix special. 50 Shades of Pork Fried Rice.. The woman working were very friendly. I ordered enough food that I started hearing Stevie Wonder and friends sing, We are the World. We are the world, we are the children, we are the ones that lobster sauce makes a brighter day so let's start eating.. And it's true you make a brighter day when Chinese food comes home with me. The Farmaid people were like dude, can you like order some vegetables. Not tonight my Midwestern friends. I'll eat some of your animals though, not the one from the Muppets, he's too cool. Most people don't know that I belong to PETA (People Eat Tasty Animals). While waiting for my food I sat at the bar. I had a cup of steam, cold, in it's liquid and solid state. The bartender was polishing the brass around the bar. The locals were extremely friendly. I really enjoyed my time, and I overly tipped my bartender for a free glass of water. You could tell she was a hard worker and made sure that I felt welcome. Other patrons and myself reminisced about when we use to be skinny. I was telling them about my morning shakes and nightly salads when a fork truck brought out my to go order. I told them it was for the needy. I needy my Chinese food. The Hot and Sour Soup was thick, had a nice flavor, a touch of tangy sweetness and was overall pretty solid. ***Egg Rolls*** These lived up to the sign on the front door. A nice strong celery flavor mixed with pork and some spices. These were legit! **Chicken Wings** These were perfectly marinated. The kind we grew up on. Absolutely delicious! *Beef Teriyaki* These had a delicious flavor, marinated throughout. I could taste some notes of ginger, no Gilligan. They could have been more tender, but the flavors helped me overlook that. Spareribs on the Bone Side note, my nickname in high school was "The Bone." Some say it's because I looked like the dude on Growing Pains. Others said it was because of that time in coed gym class I forgot to wear underwear with sweatpants. Either way, I owned it. The ribs were what we were use to growing up. They were meaty, not dry and had a pretty good flavor. They weren't the star of the show, but they weren't bad either. Some ribs I put on a pedestal, usually when my coffee table is dirty.. These I would consider middle of the road. I would also consider getting them again, but I wouldn't go out of my way like I do for some of my favorite ribs. **Lobster Sauce** My picture doesn't do this justice. Some of the best flavored, very thick and full of pork, old school Lobster Sauce that I have had in a while. The flavors were strong without being salty or sweet. Brought me back to my childhood, and I didn't have to microdose. Nice job Chef!! You can order small or large. With or without shrimp. I really enjoyed this and if it's cool with the gents that run Prestige Worldwide, we will be serving this at the freaking Catalina Wine Mixer! Overall, a great experience!

Great attentive service .. Clean .. Food arrived promptly .. Egg rolls were nearly perfect in taste and texture .. Just wish they used more minced celery greens .. Rice was fluffy .. Plenty of meat .. Not crazy salty .. Chow mein was great .. everything arrived at my table in a timely manner and piping hot .. also noticed that they have a small intimate concert venue and host some pretty talented Acts .. James Montgomery band ... Steve Smith Jazz Band ( He was the drummer for Journey ) .. Popa Chubby (an amazing, sadly under-the-radar Blues man) ... Great and talented acts at a more than reasonable price .. check out Chan's .. It's pretty cool UPDATE: Chan's is a great venue to see musical acts. It's very intimate and I was amazed at the acoustics .. sounds great in there. To my surprise, it was very well organized. John Chan does a great job and is very personable .. truly a gentleman

Fun night out with friends to Chan's Restaurant, to see band Neil and The Vipers. Chan's is in downtown Woonsocket, and a longtime fixture at that, easy to get to and find too. Plenty of free parking in their lot across the street. Food is the typical Chinese fare, good but nothing to write home about. Drinks are the proper libations served up be proper mixologists and good. Prices are very reasonable and comparable to other Chinese restaurants. Also worth noting, that the menu includes some American fare, like chicken tenders, fries and fish & chips, as well as Tiramisu, so there should be something for everyone in your party. In short, give Chan's a shot, odds are you'll like it.

Chan's Used to Be Good Many year's Ago, But Lately, It's Been Lacking In Food Quality, Portion Size & Service. The Overall Atmosphere Is Still Nice, A Large Asian-Style Dining Room, Albeit Somewhat "dated" & Empty, not very crowded at All When I dined there. (Maybe it was a Slow night? Idk. ) Anyway, The Waitress Seemed "Friendly", But Hurried, And the Food took Almost 30 minutes before I was Served! But I was Very "Patient", In Hopes that My Meal would be "Worth The Wait". But Unfortunately, It Wasn't. I Will Never Order "Chow Mein" from This Place Again ! Unless, Maybe, I Would, Only IF They Changed The "Type" & Amount of "Fried Noodles" They gave me for the dish. Which Was Not Much At All & The Noodles Were Too Large & Thick Maybe "Boston", RI Or NY Style? They Were too Hard & Dry, Even with the hot Gravy That goes with it. I Got More Gravy than Noodles! I Prefer "Fall River Style"* Noodles, They're Browner & Thinner But Much Fresher & Crispier Than what I got Here). I Suggest They Should Order Their "Noodles" From A "Much Better" More Reliable Food Supply Vendor* Like The [ Oriental Chow Main Company, Inc. In Fall River, MA.] They Do Great Business & They Serve & Supply Most ALL Of The City of Fall River's Chinese/Asian Restaurant's In The Southcoast of Massachusetts & Even Sell Their Freshly Made Fried Noodles By The Pound Bag &/Or In Boxes Along with Their Gravy Mix As Well. The "Hoo Mee" Brand Is Most Popular & Can be Also purchased In Many Local Supermarkets In Southeasten MA & RI.). Other Than Not Adding Enough Noodles to Absorb The Brown Gravy? It was kind of "Bland" Tasting with a few Pieces of Cooked Onion , Celery & not much else. But, The Won Ton Soup Was pretty Good . The Fried Rice Was Too "Light" & Didn't Seem Tasty Enough, Very little Pieces of Pork, Onion & egg (if Any). The Egg Rolls Were About the Best thing I ordered. I had to Wait A Long time to get "Some Attention"from the Waitress. But When I Asked For The Check? She Literally "Ran Over to My Table" & Slapped The Check Face Down & Left Without Even Saying "Thank You!" Or "How Was Everything"? ...Nope! Not Very Nice At ALL. It Was Actually Kind of "Careless & Rude"! Yes, It Seems Things Have "Changed" Quite Differently Over The Year's At Chan's, It Seems Like It's Going Downhill & I Had Expected Better Than This Last Experience here. I Hope They "Improve" In The Near Future, Or I Won't Be Visiting Or Recommending Their Restaurant To Anyone, Anymore. But I'll Give them this Benefit of The doubt This time, Maybe I Won't Or Maybe I Will (Depending On iF They've Improved A few Months from now), Time Will Tell. I Miss The Old Chan's Quality Food & Fine Dining Experience. It's Also Very Expensive Now, But I Expect A Reasonable GOOD Food & Dining Experience with That Higher Cost to Dine there. The Entertainment Alone Won't Win me Over. The Quality of The Restaurant Will Hopefully BE Good Again Someday. I'm Willing to Give Chan's Another Chance to Be As Good Or Better As...

Is there anyway to do 0 stars😡😡😡 not happy! My family , my husband and myself always come here ! Last night my mother went to the drive through window to pick our food up where she observed a tray of unwrapped golden fingers on a trash can !!!! Are you serious right now ! The workers think it’s okay to leave food on a trash and food uncovered that they feed us ? My mother is veryyyyyyyyyy SICK from the food, and it tasted absolutely disgusting and the food was off! We ordered the food after 530 as well ! I call today to talk to the manager on duty or the owner and the kid said what is it regarding I say a complaint just for him to say he’s not here !!! ITS BS !!! A couple of months ago me, my husband and our two year old son comes in for dinner and we sat down in the diner ... no waitress acknowledged us we were sitting down for 35 minutes with no menu no drink nothing until I had to get up and ASK where our menues are !!! Finally my son is screaming we get up to leave and the owner says for us to not leave and gets another waitress ... just for that waitress to take ANOTHER 30 -45 minutes to bring us our drinks ( so a little over a hour for acknowledgment and a drink) we don’t complain nor expect things out of it but they didn’t even discount or take something off for the trouble !! We sat down at 5:15 and didn’t get our dinner until 7:30 !!!! Let me just tell you , unacceptable and they lost ALOT OF CUSTOMERS !! Not acceptable ! Very dirty , and all the workers have serious attitudes !!!! Very disappointed!!!!!! Do not go to Chan’s unless you want your food on a trash...
