Very disappointing! So many things went wrong. Management needs to train their staff properly and better! First, my host made reservations & specifically asked for a table on the lower level, that he didn't get & they wouldn't give it to him. Our sever who was not experienced should have had someone shadowing her. She was very nervous and overwhelmed. I asked for a Pellegrino & she brought back soda water in a plastic cup. After I told her it was not what I wanted, she said "oh we don't carry Pellegrino", she should have known that. We ordered some apps & mentioned that we would order our main meal once the apps were served, but she didn't follow through w/directions correctly.
Secondly, whoever the chef was that evening did not do a good job as well. A club sandwich was ordered & it came on a hamburger bun. A club sandwich is prepare with toasted slice bread. It did not have all the ingredients on it, like the mayo. We asked for more mayo, it came in packets. We felt like we were at the beach. It should have been presented in a condiment serving cup. The butternut squash pasta dish was ordered & it was more like a soup than a creamy sauce, which it should be & it was not very tasty. Just to order a simple thing like French fries was an ordeal & took close to 10 minutes before it came to the table. We also asked for straws. The straws were not wrapped & when the server brought them over, they were in her hands and not properly covered. We ordered chocolate mousse, which was cut into slices & was frozen. Mousse should be creamy & soft. The expresso martini wasn't all that great either either.
This was my first time @ Ciro's Tavern and unfortunately, I am not sure if I will be going back. They need better management with more experience. I myself could have done a better job in running the restaurant.
The one positive thing I can say, is the Renaissance decorum...
Read moreEach time my wife and I go to an event at the Stadium Theatre, we ALWAYS make it a point to dine at Ciro's Tavern before the show! We park in the theatre parking lot and walk a short distance to Ciro's. It's very easy to make a reservation and each of the staff members we encountered was personable, respectful, and eager to please! On our most recent visit, we sat upstairs in the tavern, in the Hampton Court and Great Hall. Nice place, and such a different atmosphere compared to other restaurants! Check out the pics on their website! Andrew was our server and did an OUTSTANDING JOB in waiting on us despite how busy it was!He was personable, professional, and very attentive throughout our dining experience! GREAT JOB ANDREW! I had the lobster bisque that had large pieces of lobster meat-YUM! as well as an old fashioned burger (my "surf and turf") and loved it! My wife had a cup of clam chowder and a Ceasar Salad that she absolutely enjoyed! we feel that the prices were very fair. After our meal, we left Ciro's and walked to the theatre in a matter of minutes! Ciro's is a great place to dine, especially before attending a show at the Stadium Theatre! We'll be attending 2 more shows there within the next few months and we're looking forward to dining at Ciro's...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Ciro's. Reservations were recommended so I called a week in advance for Saturday night and was quickly accommodated. We sat upstairs (which is really cool) at a somewhat high table with 2 big chandeliers above us. Had they been all lit would have made it even better. For drinks we opted for the usual, wine and beer, prices were average for a restaurant. The menu has changed I think from what is on their website, which was disappointing as I wanted something that is no longer on their menu (honey buffalo risotto) so I opted for the steak tips. They were cooked as ordered, however, for $24 I would have expected more than 4 tips. Mashed potatoes and green beans were very good. The wife ordered the penne Ala Vodka with grilled chicken which was also very tasty. All in all it was a good experience, we will probably go back and hope they go back to their more extended menu (I really want to try that honey buffalo risotto). Also, the other 2 people that were with us ordered the surf and turf, it seemed a bit odd to me that they also had 4 steak tips on their plate as well, but also had the surf side of their entrée ($4 more I believe). You would think if the surf and turf gets 4 steak tips, the steak tip entrée would...
