I can't begin to express my disappointment with this establishment. I placed an online order with them with an estimated delivery time of an hour and 10 minutes. An hour and 20 minutes later I call, and I find out they attempted delivery about 45 minutes before my phone call. It was to a hotel and for some reason the instruction I left for the room number did not transfer to their end. My mistake here - the phone number I left was off a digit so they say they did attempt to call me but it didn't come to me. When they brought the order into the hotel they say there was nobody at the front desk for them to leave it with.
Okay. So far this is just what happens in life and things happen. The problem is this. I asked them to remake the order and deliver it, and they refused. They offered to bring back the same hour old food which obviously I didn't want. In the end it's the refusal for them to remake the order that I've already been waiting an hour and a half for and deliver it. I'm having car trouble and don't want to drive my vehicle anywhere except to the shop in the morning, And the nearest restaurant is 2 mi away so it's not within walking distance. At this point I'm going to have to settle for Domino's and wait another hour, and it's already been 10 hours since breakfast. I'm very, very annoyed. This establishment was highly recommended to me by the front desk and I'm going to have to let them know what's happened here as well.
Update: after typing that review out I made another call back to the store and spoke to the manager. She was much more helpful and agreed to remake and resend the order. However what I finally got did not appear to have been remade or at the very least sat for a while before it was delivered. I added one additional star for her being helpful, at least over the phone, but the quality of what I finally received wasn't very good. I'm not sure if that was because it was the original items they made and resent, or if it is just because the food isn't that good here. In the end I received a salad which was little more than romaine with some cheese and prepackaged chicken, some bland garlic bread, and another dessert bread which was pretty much the same thing except with a little cinnamon and icing instead of the garlic butter. Read moreParty of 7 and a baby... Order two large pizza's and it took close to an hour for the first one to come out with the cheese on top burnt (pizza was just warm) the place was not busy at all. We complained and sent it back... the four children with us were turned off by it being burnt. This was when we learn the second pie was never even put in, with this hiccup it seemed the waitress lost interest and our cups stayed pretty dry for what seemed to be another 35 to 40 minutes until the food started coming out. Management gave us the burnt pizza and made us another one on the house which was good of her. No one at the table was angry or rude we were just hungry and this wasn't our first time eating at a pizzeria... My biggest problem was the waitress not being on top of the order and when there was a bit of a problem we were dropped like she thought she had already not been tipped. They adjusted our bill to be fair which it was and I paid with cash. The bill was like 21.30 I gave her 22 and she said to me she would bring me my change. We were all sitting there talking 15 minutes later when I realized I was getting my .70 back.... mean while I had every intention of tipping her at this point. How much do you really want to have a problem at/with a place when your back in the state catching up with friends? Maybe the .70 was a screw you or maybe she just forgot to bring it back... whatever. Just embarrassing to walk out of a place with things not being square. Blah... blah... blah... I ordered a Buffalo Chicken pizza which is what I have always ordered over the 20 yrs I've eaten at gioninos. This pizza was nothing at all like the usual. The sauce was a strange, oniony flavored concoction with maybe blue cheese or ranch mixed in?? The color was very different. Not sure but I ate a piece and it was gross. It was also burnt and the chicken is usually cut pieces of chicken breast but this time it was those processed pieces with the fake charbroiled lines on them like subway has. The sauce was my main complaint.
I kindly complained to the waitress and asked her to remove the charge for this pizza, but she insisted it was the same pizza it had always been and nothing was wrong with it. She came back and told me the manager said I was expected to pay for it in full. I left the pizza for the busboy.
I just feel like if you have longtime customer telling you something isnt right with the food, you should be more respectful. Otherwise, you're implying the customer is either lying or has gone insane.
We had to ask to be seated. Lots of conversation in the kitchen and they saw us standing by the door for 5 minutes. There were no other customers when we arrived at 4pm. I've eaten here at this location a dozen times and each time they are slow. This time we only waited 35 minutes, but it can be upwards of an hour or more.
