Compare Foods — Local services in Worcester

Compare hasn't changed much since it was rebranded - it's still the same cold, unsanitary, loud grocery store it was three years ago, but with a fresh paint job.

If you need dry goods or canned items, you're probably fine - but I'd recommend against buying anything from their meat or produce section.

Nothing ever looks or smells fresh, and the vegetable sections with the water sprayers are just soggy and spoiled. I've purchased baked goods twice with mold in them, and their rotisserie chickens are absolutely terrible, old and borderline spoiled.

There is 0 customer service, and items like toothpaste and Tylenol are behind a counter where you have to request assistance.

There's a Cosmetic Booth between the Spices and Chips aisles, where you can get your eyebrows and facial hair Tweezed in the grocery store, for some reason - and a little stand selling bootleg dvds, used phones and junk jewelry.

Despite having a very 'cheap' aesthetic, the prices are typically higher than you'd expect to find on most basic items. This is the closest grocery store to me (literally a 3 minute walk) and I refuse to go to it anymore. I'd rather drive to a decent grocery store.

If you go around to the back of Compare, you can see the holes in the concrete walls leading into their back room, and the rat traps lining the building. This place should not be...

Renovation? Needs it! Food? All over the place shopping you will go in circles American food mixed with Latino crazy and frustrating. Fr Employees? They talk to much the girls talk to much put mail cashier's too stop the talking and they are rude need attitude adjustment. Food prices? Can't be matched for a Spanish store Latino food price 5 stars other Spanish stores even American store's can't compete with this store. Meat? I prefer price rite hand's Down!!. Buy meat at your own risk. Produce? Vegetable? Wear glasses and choose carefully.

Overall? Will shop here for Spanish bargains. But overall all it's filled with drug addict's & the place looks beat up it makes me ashamed of being Spanish to me a clean house matters!.

If you're house looks like trash? And drug addict's live with you? This store is for you. Sorry don't get offended it's just fact's.

I would love to give this store 5 stars! But it needs adjustments badly and a little more order like hire a law enforcement...

Produce section lackluster. No really sufficient meat/fish. Frozen foods virtually nonexistent. It does have an extensive range of “hispanic foods”. So, specialty store in that respect. But it’s mostly canned goods and thus fairly unappealing. For the quality of the foods that they sell the prices are obscenely high, more expensive that most stores that back their product quality.

On the plus side: The pleasant staff and the convenience of a proper pharmacy in store make up for the fact that you can’t really get groceries proper there, not if you want non-packaged non-artificial foods. But they do have a bakery, and that’s good. To sum up: Pharmacy, bakery, friendly staff, hispanic...
