For DECADES my family has been going to Foxes. DECADES! Foxes was my mother and fathers "date night out" back in the 80s and 90s. EVERY SINGLE SATURDAY! Us kids couldn't wait for the leftover pizza the next day. I'm not a huge pizza eater, but when I order I want a great pizza, like Foxes USE TO BE. I'll be honest, it's been 5yrs since I last ordered from Oak Lawn, and tonight, 3/17/24, will be the LAST ORDER I EVER PLACE WITH THEM! Why you ask? Here's the list.... I didn't order thin crust, I ordered the regular crust. This pizza was so thin that the cardboard it was delivered on was 2x the thickness of the crust (or shall I say CRACKER it was served on). No flavor at all. It was like they took a cracker and just dumped a can of tomatoe sauce on it and a small handful of cheese. I had ordered it with fresh garlic and I didn't see nor taste one bit of garlic.
I also ordered a house salad and I literally tossed that whole thing in the garbage after 1 bite! The lettuce was brown on the edges, the tomatoes were SO OVER RIPE you could tell they were old and should have been trashed! I've had mashed potatoes with more of a crunch.
The mushrooms and cheesesticks had absolutely no flavor other than the dipping sauce.
$15 for JUST A PLAIN BURGER WITH A SLICE OF CHEESE IS OUTRAGEOUS!
I paid $100 for a LAST MEAL from this garbage hole place! Dominoes would have been better!
It's sad that a place that has been a part of life since the 80s for me has gone down the tubes instead of following what was once a great traditional place. But I'm sure it has alot to do with staff that just doesn't make the effort to keep up traditional values.
The end has come. I'll never order from...
Read moreCREEPY I went in with a friend on a night they had a musical guest. This singer was preaching non stop about America and at one point he made everyone stand and sing the national anthem. It felt creepy then and it left me with a horrible feeling about the direction this country is going. I asked the waitress to box up our meals the minute the kitchen got around to our order.
Two weeks later Elon Musk and his Incel Posse was granted access to copy everyone in the country's financial, medical, and social security records.
I can't shake the feeling that Fox's is going to become another Beer Hall Putsch. After going there for years I think I can find a more welcoming restaurant.
Editing to reply to Fox's response.
You guys hosted a singer with his two band mates. Maybe about a month after the election. Older gentleman in his late 50s early 60s. Listen, I get that people who love Trump are all gushing their team won, but not everyone wants to experience such an exaggerated performance of fake American patriotism on display while you're just trying to have a pizza and beer in the neighborhood.
The fact that y'all were paying this 'patriotic' guy to be at your restaurant the same time Trump and Doge were firing scientists, closing down the CDC, CISA, and hiring a bunch of 20 year olds to copy and disable social security computers is simply tone deaf. Hear we are 5 months later and the state of Democracy is hanging on a thread. If you don't want people to associate your political view with the food and family atmosphere you used to have, stop taking sides and just be...
Read moreThe twin 8 Oz Pork Chops, Baked Potato and Corn Dinner was delicious and worth every penny for the price charged. The Chicken Rice Soup was served hot and was very tasty. However, as it was very busy and obviously understaffed here this night, the Soup was served by our Waitress just 2 minutes before the Main Entree arrived! My Girlfriend's Salmon covered Salad was reported by her to be very good. The complimentary Whiskey Shot provided by the Liquor Company's Promotion Hostess this night was a nice touch. The Chocolate Cake dessert was rich and very satisfying. The Prices here are above average for an Irish Family Restaurant. The Service by our Waitress was very slow on this obviously understaffed Saturday Night. After she took our Drink Order she didn't come back to take our Food Order for about 35 minutes! My recommendation for Management and the Waitress Staff is to at the very least have a Busboy come by to help out on delivery if your Waitresses' hands are full taking other Customer's Orders to bring us the Coffee we ordered with our Dessert and to bring us the Cream we had ordered with the Coffees. The Cream was finally brought over after we had nearly finished eating the Dessert and drinking the Black Coffee! At least the Coffee Brand used here was excellent and tasty. The Outstanding, Cover Charge-Free Acoustic Entertainment provided by the talented Dan McGuinness and Patrick Keiner Duo saved the Nighy and made up for our Service shortcomings and has always been the savior of our visits to...
