My friend and I came here to enjoy dinner and were unfortunately disappointed. We were seated and after that our service was slow even though we were all but one of three tables in our servers section as a party was basically paying their check and leaving so basically two. We received our food and the shrimp scampi tasted good. The crab legs were okay but quality wasn’t the best. I asked our server Kay ( I think her name is) if I could have some lemons and she left for a pretty long time & by the time she got back I had basically finished my meal. She was also too busy cleaning her section to tend to our table and we could hear her music blasting through her headphones as well as her attempting to clear our table but ended up taking napkins and drinks that we weren’t finished with and didn’t ask beforehand. Even though the restaurant was near closing this made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. I then asked her if I could order another shrimp scampi and she preceded to tell me, “no, sorry the kitchen is closed.” Mind you she didn’t notify us prior to us sitting down that the kitchen would be closing soon. I understand we came in close to closing but I would have ordered more in the beginning if I was aware the kitchen was going to close during our active dinning. Then came time for our check and she was to busy talking loudly with a coworker to notice until he pointed it out to her. She came and got the kiosk while still talking to him and took my card and held the kiosk in my face while her knee was on the booth next to my friend who felt very uncomfortable since it’s covid and social distancing is still in place. I selected the tip and she even saw I selected 15% and said thanks. I get she was trying to make things easy but things like that don’t need to be watched by the server, I never tip below 15% because I get the restaurant industry but, she would have gotten a lot more had she been a better server. Unfortunately that was not the case. I’m very disappointed in my service and wont waste...
Read moreI thought red lobster had turned there operations around but I couldn’t have been more wrong !! This oak lawn location is horrible and understaffed , unorganized , untrained staff and undercooked food . Let’s get to the first issue , it’s 5:00pm on a Friday and the bar is not open ! We can’t order any drinks or appetizers for happy hour nor can we have drive with our meal ! Absolutely ridiculous! We come to a restaurant to have drinks with our meal and to socialize and this restaurant has the bar shut down for no complete reason and when I attempted to speak with a manager , she was rude and dismissive ! She answered my e question stating the bartender was not ready to serve at this time and they would not be service drink at this time ! I almost left but I drove 30 minutes to get to this location so we stayed even though we couldn’t get any drinks ! The hostess was even worst , talk about a nasty attitude and horrible service ! Her name is Val and she needs to be switched to another position immediately ! She doesn’t know how to properly greet guests and has a demeaning and just down right nasty attitude ! She was bragging to another coworker that she likes being aggressive with customers and she looked like a competely unprofessional person ! What kind of human being brags about being unprofessional and aggressive with customers ? Very strange ! After this fiasco , I couldn’t even enjoy the meal because of the two major issues when I first stepped into the restaurant! I would never come back to this location because if they are hiring host that likes to be aggressive with customers , who knows how this restaurant prepares the food ? Is it with aggression ? I would rather go to the Matteson location and order food because they always have top tier...

My husband and I came in yesterday, 8/27/19, around 4:30 for his birthday. We were sat down at a long table by the kitchen after a few minutes wait. ...Manager sat us down (I think she was the manager, since she had regular clothing and not a uniform) and was told someone would be with us soon and to enjoy. We waited and waited and waited. Finally after 15 minutes without anyone greeting us, I flagged the hostess as she walked by and she just said okay and went back to the hostess stand in front. All the while people who were seated after us were already served their drinks and salads/appetizers. After another 5 minutes, we got up and left but I did stop at the bar to ask the bartender if he could call the manager and he just looked at me and said he REALLY needed to get this order in first. Seriously? that is more important than an upset customer asking for the manager. This is the 2nd time this has happened to us, if Red Lobster does NOT want to serve a WHITE couple, they should make that know when people walk in the door. I would not have returned when this incident happened the 1st time but my husband wanted it for his birthday!!!
I also called the restaurant once we left (we were in our car in the parking lot) to speak to the manager and I explained what happened to her but once I asked for her name, she pretended like she could no longer hear me. You could hear someone giggling in the background and finally we heard her comment to that person, "Oh, I think they finally hung up" and the laughed herself.
What GREAT customer service!!!!
They need to train the staff and let them know that ALL American money is good regardless of what color the...
