Came back for Thanksgiving Dinner this year after having a beautiful dinner and experience last year. This year was not the same. Got there and was seated within a reasonable time of our reservation , however, was seated for 15+ minutes before server ever came to the table, then took another 10 minutes to bring the promised water and iced tea. Another 10+ minutes passed before the salads were brought out. The salad, and pasta that followed was very good! But after another delay, brought out turkey in a bowl that had literally one chunk (yes chunk, not sliced) of white meat, the rest was chunks of dark meat, large piece of bone, and large pieces of skin. The most disgusting Thanksgiving Turkey I've ever laid eyes on. No one in the party ate the Turkey! Oh, I won't forget the very dry "sirloin" either. Not sirloin, but a brisket they called "sirloin". The service on refills for drinks took way too long, and the wait in between "courses" also way too long. AND the portions were very small. The salad, pasta, and pumpkin pie were excellent! None of it worth price paid and the server certainly didn't deserve the 20% gratuity automatically tacked on. Will never go back and do not recommend to any one else!
Rebuttal to Polly's response:
Let's clarify my statement about small portions. First, this was not a buffet style all-you-can eat dinner, each entree and side was brought to the table in a dish and served "family style". When there are five adults at a table and you bring enough portion of food in a bowl for three people, the portions are too small. Then, when the waitstaff does not come around for long periods of time and one has too continually ASK for more food, water, tea, whatever, it quickly gets old, and one just decides to get through it and never come back. Good SERVICE is about asking the customer if they'd like more food, water, tea, whatever, in a TIMELY manner not just providing service only when the customer tracks down the waitstaff and asks for it. Your response basically says that the terrible service, small portions, and disgusting turkey we received at your establishment was our fault, that we should have ASKED for better! I am sorry to myself and my family for this awful meal on Thanksgiving, we will not enter your...
Read moreI use to love this place. The food was excellent. Not sure what happened?? I went on my Birthday. I ordered Ravioli di Ricotta, and it was like rubber. Which means it was undercooked. I complained and the waitress who was very slow, said she would bring me another one. By the time she brought it back, the other person I was with had already finished their meal! This one had less ravioli on the plate and was exactly the same. Hard like rubber. So I complain again and the waitress gets an attitude and sends out head Chef Ernesto. I tell him what the problem is and I say "I'm Italian I know how this is supposed to be cooked" and in a very thick Spanish sounding accent he tells me "Well I've never had NO complaints before!" and then makes excuses that his line cooks didn't cook the pasta correctly. What kind of Italian restaurant has cooks who don't know how to cook pasta??? He gave No Apology at all. He didn't even offer to make me something else.. Usually head chefs are proud of their food and want to fix a mistake. It Completely ruined my Birthday and I left pretty mad. Terrible Service! I've told many people to avoid this place!
FOLLOW UP: Thank you for response... To correct what you said... it was June 12 ... 4 months ago. They never offered me anything to replace my meal and never offered an Apology either.. All they did was remove the ravioli from our bill. ... nothing more... It Completely ruined my...
Read moreI ordered the gnocchi and marinara sauce. I specifically said "no cheese" at all! None sprinkled on or anything. I absolutely hate cheese! Gnocchi is a potato dumpling that does not have cheese in it! When my food came, the sauce was orange so I knew it had cheese in it. I told this to my waitress and she told me that gnocchi has cheese in it. I told her that NO it doesn't! It's a potato dumpling with nothing inside it! There should never be cheese in gnocchi! Also, when I ordered, I said no cheese in any of my meal! She went back to the chef (who is not Italian) and he told her that he sprinkles cheese on the gnocchi as he is making it. This was totally unacceptable!!! Gnocchi should not have cheese or any seasonings sprinkled on it!! It gets its flavor from the sauce that you put on it! Also, the waitress should know if something has cheese in it! What if I was deadly allergic to cheese!! Luckily, I just really dislike it! I am Sicilian, so I do know what I'm talking about! So then the waitress brought me a plate of penne pasta with marinara sauce. It had so much basil in it (and I love basil) that I couldn't even taste the sauce. I did not see one Italian waitress....what has this place come to? I used to love it, but will not be back! Hopefully, Gregorio's Italian restaurant keeps serving great...
