I strongly advise against supporting Glow Fish Studios due to serious concerns with how they conduct business and treat customers.
I was falsely accused of shoplifting a $60 necklace after spending nearly $100 in their store that same day. The owner contacted me directly via text message—not law enforcement or legal counsel—and claimed they “knew” I stole the item simply because they couldn’t locate it. I was told I would be charged unless I returned it, despite no evidence and no investigation.
Instead of resolving the issue with professionalism or accountability, they escalated it to criminal court. I was forced to defend myself for months, even though there was no proof of theft and I was never found guilty. Video evidence later confirmed I did not steal anything. Regardless, I was left with over $1,500 in legal expenses for a crime I didn’t commit.
This was an incredibly traumatic experience, and it raises serious concerns about the owner’s misuse of legal threats, lack of due diligence, and failure to take responsibility for their mistake. It appears they are more interested in playing detective than in treating paying customers with dignity and fairness.
Their recent public post celebrating police response times in a shoplifting incident is ironic, considering their own history of making false accusations and dragging innocent people through the legal system. I would never recommend this...
Read moreI absolutely adore this store! It is a perfect eclectic mix of items that you really must plan ahead and give yourself a bit of time when you first go there. There are simply so many lovely things to choose from! The store is clean and well organized. The staff is extremely kind and very patient (when you are looking through the glass cabinet of stones) waiting right there to assist you when needed. I found a serene and soothing piece of blue lace agate at the best price! I had been searching on Etsy for some time now and I found the right piece in my own backyard! LOL. I also purchased a piece of Moroccan amethyst, pink amethyst, and some small mookaite spheres. I was able to find a beautiful abalone shell too. Then at checkout, they had a super cute set of dangly boho stone chip earrings that I scooped up as well. Overall, it was a fabulous shopping experience and I will definitely be going back soon for my mineral and gemstone needs. It makes me happy to support a small business in my area and they really care for their store and the community Thank you...
Read moreI love this store but only go every once in awhile due to the high prices. All of my previous experiences were delightful and left me satisfied. Today however, I was trying on the rings near the registers and one of the cashiers hounded me for the entire process. I picked a ring and set it in eye sight because of this to ease her suspicions but she asked if I had another ring, and when I said no, looked on my partner’s fingers to see if we were trying to steal. She was very rude and even went as far as to ask where a ring I tried on was. I didn’t know because I obviously put it back. I understand there’s a big stealing problem in a store with a bunch of little items, but being accused of stealing rings when I’m a frequent shopper is offensive. Hopefully they realize you lose business by assuming the worst of your own customers. Won’t be back for awhile...
