The location is in a strip mall across Byron Center rd from Metro Hospital. The place is a small Cozy place. It has maybe 10-12 tables.
I ordered online for Pickup at 1:40pm. I ordered a flight of 3 soups for $8.25. I ordered Lobster Bisque, Corn & Crab Chowder, and Chicken & Noodle Soup. I pick it up and head to work. I sit down to eat it and I notice the receipt says they made it at 1:25 even though I specified 1:40. So Between them making my order 15 minutes early and the 20 minutes drive to work it had been 35 minutes cooling down. 2nd thing I noticed was the bowls aren't insulated to help keep soup warm. 3rd thing I noticed is how small each of the 3 bowls were, 3oz each. Sure enough the soups were Lukewarm. The Lobster Bisque was ok I guess it had the normal Lobster Bisque taste, just a blander version. The Corn & Crab Chowder was my favorite, but favorite of ehhhh. There wasn't enough Corn and it mostly tasted of potatoes. The Chicken and Noodle was ok just nothing special. After all 3 I wasn't even full. The french bread that came with it was good.
The service was good for what it was. Normal type of thing order on one side pay and pickup at other end. If ordered ahead go straight to pickup. I also noticed if you ate there you still ate out of cheap paper bowls instead of real bowls.
Overall 2 1/2 stars. I'll round it to an even 3. Lost half a star for making so early. Other 2 stars for such average and small soups. Would I return? Mostly No. If someone else wanted to I wouldn't...
Read moreABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. The girl at the checkout was extremely rude to my husband, and when our food arrived, there were two very long hairs one in my soup and one draped across my utensils. I immediately asked to speak to the manager, explain my frustration to him, that the girl at the checkout did not need to be rude to my husband and I as we had just arrived in the state and did not know that the soda fountains were all closed. I simply asked for a fountain drink, and she was extremely rude about all of the covid-19 restrictions in the whole state. When my food arrived with hairs on it I immediately asked to speak to the manager, and while he did refund our order, he had said they would be remaking it, so we sat for another 20 minutes waiting for the soup to be remade. After 20 minutes, when my husband had finished his sandwich, I went up and asked the manager if my food was still coming out, and he said he didn't know they had wanted me to remake it, even though that had been the initial discussion. I never asked for a refund, I simply wanted my food remade without hair in it. The workers were very rude, and I ended up wasting 30 minutes without getting any food at all. So now we have to head somewhere else for food for me. Waste of time, waste of energy, and the food was not that good that we did...
Read moreI love Zoup and have never had an issue with this location before today. I came in during lunch today, they had a promotion going on, so of course it was busy. The cashier seemed to be struggling with my order, I had to repeat myself a couple times. The manager (who was helping said cashier) made a comment about something "not being necessary" but I had no idea who she was talking to, so I ignored it. After the food came up, I advised her there must have been a mistake, as they made me a sandwich, instead of the salad I had ordered. Instead of apologizing, manager rudely replied "this is the reason why I repeated your order." I told her I would just eat what they made me instead asking for the correct item, and left the counter. I will not be returning to this location again. I am a paying customer and I was not rude to her, so I didn't feel like I deserved an attitude. The fact that they messed up my order and never apologized or tried to make it right didn't sit well with me, either. I don't feel like I need to support a business with a manager that takes her bad day out on their customers and refuses to make things right when they...
