Café Folino — Restaurant in Wyomissing

First and last time visiting this establishment. Let me start by saying that this is the first time in my life that I experience racism. As I stated, this was our first time there, we go in and see a waitress having a conversation with a couple that is already eating, we stand there waiting to be approached because that’s what normally happens right? If the staff sees you there they will at least greet you, well not in this case. The waitress looked at us and continued his conversation, my husband and to interrupt their conversation to ask how the system was because we were not sure if we had to be seated or order at the counter. After this happens I get in the line, there’s a gentleman ordering in front of me, they waiter was also taking orders so he asked the man if he wanted to leave the check open or pay at the moment the man opts to leave it open, then goes my time and guess what? As soon I’m done ordering the cashier shows me where to pay (surprisingly I didn’t have to option to have my check open) the food was okay, I bought a iced coffee and my husband asked for a water, we never received the water or the complementary mimosas. And after all this why do I say that it was racism? Because we were the only dark Hispanics there, everybody else had their complementary drinks and were treated like actual...

Service was pleasant it was grand opening so things happen. I ordered my food NO MEAT. My order came with meat and bacon which I DO NOT Eat pork at all. They took the plate back but took the eggs and bread and put it on another plate and gave it to me. I realized this because I started eating the food and we all know pork grease is distinctive. It was on my eggs. So I could not eat them. We also ordered hash browns, which were hard. At the end we asked one of the guys do we leave the plates there or where do we dump them. He seemed like he was upset he paused and said just leave them we will get them and I guess my face showed how I felt to how his response was he then said oh by the way how was your meal, we just said it was good. I wanted to really let him know but asking him about where to place the plates got a weird response so I definitely didn’t want to tell him about the food. Hope he has a better day. I’m big on service and if I like the service and the food is good you got me. I may give it another try for lunch. Front counter service great waiters great lady and man part of company on the side great. I would go back but not for breakfast $37. But I love to try new places.....

Small little cafe style eats that were tasty. You seat yourself, and order at the register. Coffee had good flavor, and they also offer small complimentary flutes of mimosas. The food was kind of average for the price. Nothing to rave about flavor wise. French toast was cooked properly, but could have been better with some changes in the thickness of toast. I had the eggs Benedict that came with hash browns. I just felt they lacked some flavor. As a whole the staff was very pleasant, welcoming and attentive. But I do feel for the price it was lacking that wow factor and uniqueness which I could have definitely experienced at some of the other restaurants down the street. Obviously, this is more of a cafe and not a restaurant, but if you’re going to off these more highlighted dishes then maybe spice them...
