This was an email I sent to management and their feedback email address but received no response after 45 days. So I am posting this on review sites so that others can be informed of how horrible their Keyquest escape room is.
My wife and I as well as our 4 young boys, were really excited about the key quest/escape room adventures we'd heard about last year. We finally got the crew together and headed to Laser Quest for our night out which doesn't come along often with a family of 6.
The booking process was easy and our purchase was also simple. We were given a sheet that briefly explained the types of locks we would encounter but not much else in regards to what's to be expected.
We enter our room, which was mostly covered in black felt, and looked quite cheap. Our assistant explained that we were to escape the room by looking for clues. He played an audio recording and gave us a walkie talkies to call for "hints". He also showed us how to open two of the locks that they found many people would get stuck on.
He left the room and our time began. We quickly got to work and we're finding many clues to start escaping.
The first time we got stuck, we finally decided to call for a "hint" as we didn't want to waste much more time.
When the assistant arrived back at the room, we were given hints that we already knew the answers to. It turned out, we just weren't opening the lock right. Once we figured out the right way to open the lock, we continued solving more puzzles.
We came to a stop again, because the CD player that was in one of the locked containers, didn't have fully charged batteries. When the assistant returned, he told us that the CD player was useless without opening the briefcase. We told him we were stuck in that as well and he gave us another hint we already knew the answer to. Turned out, that the code on the brief case had been tampered with and was incorrect. He brought us in a set of the clues that would have been in the case that should have opened with the clues and answers we had.
Mind you, that both of these times, the timer had been running while we were trying to solve. The assistant did stop the timer while they rectified the issue, but time was wasted while trying to solve the puzzles. Even though we had the right answers.
Our time dwindled down and we were unable to complete our quest. I don't feel this is because of our ability, but because of the lack of preparation and quality control. And the attraction itself was lack luster and bland.
At the end of it all, they graced us with a picture of our failure as a token of our trip. Myself, my wife and our children were all disappointed with the final outcome of an adventure we anticipated greatly. We were also planning on staying for a few rounds of laser tag post adventure, but decided that we didn't want to be there anymore after this experience. There wasn't really any apology, empathy or compensation for the bad experience except for the lovely photo of us holding up our signs of failure, which the family and I feel this signs are really what we think about Key Quest adventure. #FAIL
I'm rather disappointed with not only the fact that our family spent their night out like this, but that we also paid $75 for that privledge as well. After having completed the attraction, I wouldn't pay more then $25 to ever do it again.
I hope your company can look into the potential of what a great attraction this could be if done right and what amazing customer service can do to improve your offering and attract more/repeat business. $75 for something I can put together in my coat closet hardly gets anyone excited to...
Read moreI brought a large group for my daughter's 13th birthday and our experience was not a good one. The workers were unprofessional and dressed in their pajamas , and other then the fact they were behind the counter you wouldn't know they worked there. They were not very accommodating. They were on their phones, watching basketball and playing games on the conputers. We made reservations ahead of time for a group and both our sessions were at least 45 mins later then what they were supposed to be. We were never told when our sessions were and had to constantly ask. The water machine was Out of Order but no sign was posted and when I approached them , they were like yeah it doesn't work I had to ask for my money back and they said that's a problem for higher ups, but then eventually did give it back. There was a problem with the system and none of the 4 people working knew how to fix it. It was very disorganized and disappointing, and we will not...
Read moreI journeyed to the laser quest facilities with my acquaintances with the inference that the employees will splendifourously accomedate my at the time innocent squadron. Oh how incredibly silly my brain was to conjure up such a thought! We were immediately thrust into glorious combat with a bunch of weird teenagers who were blatantly breaking crucial rules such as no covering the sensors, and not being covert at all about it. Also many small children were scurrying about the arena making it hard to not think I would at any moment be trampling a youthful scallywag. Also they cried when shot sometimes, you can see how this would add up to a discombobulated evening. Also the game ended fairly quickly and I noticed how I could fire a few unfortunate beams at an unsuspecting player and they would turn around and luckily nail me in the chestal region, ending my chance at eternal world dominance. So things could have gone...
