ROACH... DO NOT EAT HERE.
TLDR; Roach crawled across the counter and very bad service.
Staying at the casino for a few days and I'm the type that likes supporting and trying new places and not big chain restaurants and I always go by Google reviews. So I planned on eating here. I pull into an empty parking lot a little after 8pm on a Monday. Google reviews say this place is open until 9pm. I figured that wasn't too bad and wouldn't make the workers upset since I thought they would still be open for close to another hour. You can see from my pic the receipt says 8:12pm. A young girl comes up to the counter and I order. She asks me if it was for here or to go and I told her "here if that's ok?" She acted like it was no problem and gave me my cup. As I'm waiting, a young man comes from the back kitchen area and gives me a couple funny looks and talks to the girl who took my order as she's sweeping on the other side of the eating area. A minute or two later what I assume is her mother and two very young children come in. They are just kind of hovering around her as she's sweeping and the lady says "I thought you all were closed!"... I immediately turn to the young girl and repeatedly apologize and say that I thought they were open until 9pm and that Google says 9pm. She just ignores me. I tell her I'm sorry again and that I will take it to go. I get up and stand at the front and as I'm standing there I see a roach crawl across the back counter where the kitchen window is. At this point, I wanted to just walk out, but it's already awkward and crazy enough so I just stand there for a couple more minutes until my order is ready. As I'm walking out, the guy in the kitchen makes what sounded like exaggerated coughing.
Obviously, I can't comment on the food because I would have rather not eaten for the day then eaten a bite of it. The fries felt super soggy for what it's worth. I stopped at Wendy's on the way back to the hotel... It was meh.
I can give the weird situation about them "being closed" a pass, but not the roach on top of it.
For what it's worth, the view of the water from the dining area...
Read moreHad a lunch here before leaving town and wasnât sure about it based on appearance but the name was the deciding factor and we thought weâd try it out and see what it was. Not a bad decision at all. On a sign, I noticed mention of it being prepared upon ordering and if you see that on their sign, just know that itâs true. The burger seemed to be very fresh and juicy and the fries were very hot! Even though itâs fixed after you order, it didnât take long at all to receive it. I donât know who was on the counter but she was professional and friendly and she was also patient while we decided what to order (as it was our first time eating there). So no complaints on the service and that also gets a 5 star to go with the food getting 5. Iâd also like to add that based on the restaurant name and other reviews, donât just think âanother burgerâ. They have plenty of options on their burger âfixingsâ so you can have something that appeals. Personally, I had the whiskey burger (old #7 was the name if Iâm not mistaken) and I thought it was great. But there were several different options and if I were local Iâd go back and try the others. It was NOT overpriced at all either. I think around $12 give or take a few cents and you can easily spend about that amount on a number whatever going through a window, where youâll not only be waiting in a line for 10 minutes anyway, but then even if you get a hot burger, the fries arenât, or the fries just came up but the burger feels like itâs been there for 20 minutes already. Like I said, I wasnât sure about it based on appearance, itâs an older building and doesnât look like much, but do not be fooled by that if youâre on the fence about it. It was very good quality food and it was in fact clean inside (unlike their local DQ). If you think youâd like to go have a burger and fries, I wouldnât even think about the DQ there. Just forget about that and go on to this place and try it out. Itâs clean, the food is fresh and hot and it was very affordable and not a big wait. All big pluses in my opinion for a...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to make a day trip and go to Cherokee NC. Before leaving I did my research of dog friendly restaurants to eat at. In their listing on Google they state they have outdoor deck seating overlooking the River. So I thought it would be nice to eat there. We took our toy poodle and headed out for the trip. Had a great time riding through the town and checking out some of the adventures. Then we headed to Fresh Burger. As you can imagine this was not a dog friendly restaurant nor did they have a deck overlooking the River. We ended up getting take out and going down to the river and ate at a picnic table, which turned out to be very enjoyable. The chicken strips were delicious and the fries were habit forming. My wife got the onion straws, she said they were delicious. The prices were comparable to Zaxbyâs but the food was much better. The two employees were outstanding in customer service. The restaurant was clean and overlooked the river. I would have given it five stars if it had not been for the false advertisement of being dog friendly! Also I will add that the manger offered for us to sit outside at a concrete picnic table that was in full sun and close to the busy road. So at least they tried to offer a solution. I would visit them again but would plan to eat by the river...
