Wigwam Motel & Craft Shop — Hotel in Yellowhill Community

This motel is in a great location in Cherokee. It has a nice gift shop that is part of the motel beside it and is within walking distance to other shops. Peter's Pancakes breakfast restaurant is one of the best places to eat breakfast and is right across the street from this motel. This motel is small and only has 16 rooms with 6 of them located on a second floor. We stayed in a ground floor one queen bed room and it was great. Very clean with a mini refrigerator. The bed was comfortable and the a/c cooled the room really well. The TV was an older model but there was a large selection of channels to choose from and the reception/picture was very clear. The bathroom was very large with lots of space to move around and the water pressure in the shower was very good. No hair dryer or telephone in room but they are not essential anyway. Quiet area during the night. Rates are very low compared to most motels/hotels in Cherokee. Ladies that work there were very friendly and would tell you about activities that were happening in the area. Will definitely stay...

Brother-in-law took myself, son and husband to the wigwam to stay, we have been back every year sense, we took our oldest son he fell in love with the place I also took my granddaughters after my husband died, the girls and||My youngest son love the place and the owners, my girls are really loving and it was the first time to stay in a motel. I think it was the only time the owners were told how they loved the place and topped that off with hugging them bye before we left and let them know they would be back. As I have heard from my kids and grandkids Cherokee NC is a fanatic place and the people are great the owners of the wigwam have visitors for life, going to a lot of generations to come .its nice to know that my kids and grand kids love the place as good as myself and my husband and will return yearly been visiting several years and the wigwam is the best place to stay and have the best owners, the place can’t be beat just ask my youngest granddaughters they will tell...

This place is cheap but it is NASTY! We called to reserve the room the night before so they held our card. When we arrived we asked if the rooms were clean and they said yes most definitely. We paid and when we entered the room there was a foul odor and then the first thing we noticed was a BUG on the bed. We then walked into the bathroom and discovered the toilet handle was broke and no way to flush it. As we walked out we wiped the table off around where the TV was sitting and honestly there was a half inch of dirt/dust on it. We then nicely asked for a refund and told them the situation and they would not refund anything. I have stayed in a lot of motels and this was the most filthy motel and very unfriendly and rude staff/owners. Would not recommend this...
