Newfound Lodge — Hotel in Yellowhill Community

I don't like to give bad reviews, but I feel like a bad experience should be remedied by the company asap before it gets to that point, especially when brought to their attention promptly. Stayed here once before, had a pleasant experience, clean room, neighbors were a little loud but nothing I could complain too much about. I booked a stay here as I work in the area during the poker series. It smelled like there was a dead animal in one of the trash cans on the walk, our room was not nearly as nice as the first one we rented. The AC went out during the night and the room felt very humid and sticky. We complained the next am and were offered another room(steps from the trash can that nearly would knock you down if you walked within 10 feet of it.) Upon entering the room it smelled of mold and mildew. Which I also noticed black mildew in the bathroom of the first room. The management didn't do anything, I would have expected them to at least offer a discount, or to come look at the room, offer another etc. We left and found a nicer hotel closer to the casino, AND it was at a better rate. We only were attracted to this hotel originally because we wanted to be on the river. Make sure u ask to see your room...

The rooms were great quality for the price and the location/view.

The beds were so clean I would’ve almost thought they were brand new. The balcony was nice, although the railing left paint flecks all down my arms, and was covered in spiderwebs.

The mini fridge was functional, as was everything else—except for the outlet behind the nightstand. I noticed that the light was not all the way plugged in, turned off the light, and went to push it the rest of the way in.

The outlet sparked, said, ‘boom!’ went out, and singed my finger. This made me weary of the outlets in the hotel. We had no problems with the other outlets, though.

The interior of the hotel definitely needs work. The wallpaper is cheap and was peeling or stained in multiple spots.

The tub in the shower would not drain properly, I assume that the system might need to be flushed out. The bathroom is small and cramped, and the water pressure on the showerhead isn’t very good. It sprays everywhere and soaks the floor.

During the day you can kind of hear the activities of those around/outside of the room, such as dogs barking or people chatting.

This was like a room out of a horror movie! The only thing that was ok was the bed,even tho I'm pretty sure it wasn't clean. I just payed double what this room cost at Econo lodge and the bed was so hard I couldn't sleep at all!!! This carpet looks to be 50 years old no joke! The wall paper is hanging off everywhere, spider webs everywhere! The bathroom is just scary! The tub is black...the floor is black and wet! Looks to be blood or coke stains all over the walls the carpets are so stained there's a black ring around the walls! The balcony overlooking the river is beautiful, besides the spiders and this huge tub catching all the water from the AC. It's just sad that people are allowed to even rent these kinda of places out! The towels had hair and stuff on them. The doors are even broken. Do your self a huge favor and don't stay here!!! Also by morning my husband and i were both very sick and had to go by meds! We had a nasty case of respiratory infection! Had to cut our trip short so totally ruined our getaway! These people should...
