Jimmy's Poke & Sushi Burrito — Restaurant in Yorba Linda

What can I say about this place that I DON'T love about it?!

Jimmy's is a new poke joint in the area and is easily one of the top contenders for best poke bowls in the Orange County neighborhood.

You are immediately greeted with shining smiles upon entry, and the layout is fairly simple. You dictate which ingredients you'd like on your poke bowl as they make it behind the counter.

Things I liked: they offer organic brown rice sushi rice OR white rice (big difference!) squid salad (I've never seen another place offer this) most premium toppings are included, such as seaweed salad, masago, furikake, and crunch onion mango salsa self-serve miso soup from a machine

Things I didn't like: super short, but avocado costs 50 cents because there's a shortage?!? But no star deductions because that's not their fault.

Food quality is excellent. Sauces are great: highly recommend the spicy mayo and house special. Because they're new they have a LOT of promo deals right now, like a free drink upon review AND free thrifty ice cream with a poke purchase.

Coming from me, someone who’s only had poke from like 3 places ever, this might not be too useful, but this place is so much better than the other places I’ve been to. I ordered a medium poke bowl and I got a really good medium poke bowl. The fish is tender and has a good mouth feel to it, they offer sushi rice as a regular option, the spicy mayo that I got goes really well with everything in the bowl, and the toppings enhance the dish instead of feeling like extras thrown in the menu to fill up space. I finished a job nearby & wanted lunch. Asked good ol' Google what's nearby & good. THANK YOU, GOOGLE! I just popped my "poke cherry" with probly the best u can get, & was fortunate to have met the owner, Jimmy. I told him I've never had poke, told him some of my likes(everything, not picky), and asked him what I should get. He went to town and made MAGIC . Ridiculously fresh flavors, large portions.
