Ninja Ramen — Restaurant in York Township

As a ramen-loving Japanese rating this place for the people of York, I gave this place a 4. If I were to rate just the ramen as a picky Japanese, I would actually give it a 2.5. But, since I’d rather not have to buy a plane ticket to go to California or Japan to just get a bowl of ramen, this place is pretty amazing!

I got the spicy tonkotsu (pork based broth) and it was $13. Considering it’s $18+ in California, this was a huge plus! To be even more economical and to prolong the experience, here’s a secret I learned over the years of my “ramenry”. At the restaurant, eat all the noodles and toppings but leave the broth to take home. Then, order a side of just the noodles ($3) or kai-dama in Japanese, and take that to-go. You now have another ramen meal back at home with just a quick microwave!

The taste was a little too salty but that may be on purpose to adjust for an American taste. The noodles itself were good but you could tell it’s not freshly made. They’re definitely a notch above the cup ramen noodles. The sliced pork was a little dry so that was slightly off but still not too disappointing.

Overall, since I’m in York, I would definitely come here again and recommend it to anyone who wants a good ramen in PA.

My family tried this place for a quick dinner. The restaurant was fairly empty. The food was decent for a quick ramen spot. We tried the tonkatsu, spicy tonkatsu, and chicken katsu entree. The portion sizes are generous and food came out really fast. The reason for 3 stars is because of the service. Strangely, they kind of refused to acknowledge my child as a separate diner? They wanted to give us a table for 2…even though there was clearly a third person and we ordered 3 entrees. They only gave us 2 water cups, so we had to share but then they also never provided water refills. They also didn’t check on our table once. When we were finally able to request the check, we asked for a to go box and they, without being asked, decided to box the leftover themselves, mixing everything and dropping food on the table and then picking the dropped food from the table into the takeout container.
