During the Fathers' day weekend, my wife was shopping around and checking the inventory and prices of twin mattresses for our two sons. She called the East Market St.-Mattress Warehouse store, and the salesmen stated that he was the only person in the store, and that he had two customers in the showroom. He then went on to tell her that he did not have time to check his inventory and that she should just come into the store. His actions unfortunately led to the loss of 3 mattress sales, 1 adjustable bed frame sale, 2 mattress covers sales and 1 pillow sale. After my wife hung up with this salesman, she called over to the Mattress Warehouse store on South Queen Street and spoke to Patrick, who was a very helpful and informative salesmen from the start. He told my wife that they have several types of mattresses in stock, but that they did not have the exact model in which she was inquiring about, however, he would be more then happy to match the price on what he had in stock or at least get close to it. So, my wife and I go to the South Queen Street Mattress Warehouse store and meet Patrick. We were pleasantly greeted upon entering the store, and then Patrick immediately showed us the comparable mattress that we were interested in. We liked the mattress in which he showed us and honestly could not be any happier with the more then fair deal he gave us. As we talked more, one thing led to another, and we ended up buying a new queen size tempurpedic mattress and adjustable bed frame. To seal the deal, Patrick and my wife talked me into getting a Bedgear Storm Series New Pillow 2.0. I have gone through several new pillows over the years, and by far this is the best pillow that I ever purchased. While Patrick finalized the sale, we had the pleasure of speaking with Barry. Another wonderful, polite and professional salesman. We found out that Barry was a veteran and served in the Vietnam War, so you know we had to thank him for his service. Barry spoke to my wife and I for several minutes and provided us with more information regarding our purchases. Both Barry and Patrick assured us that we will have a better night’s rest with our new mattresses, and after two weeks of sleeping on our new beds, my kids, wife and I have had the best sleep we have had in a while. No more aches and pains in the morning. If you are looking for a new mattress, bed frame or accessories; you must go see Patrick and Barry at the South Queen Street Mattress Warehouse Store. I should start but saying I’m always skeptical about purchasing from the chain mattress stores but my experience here was the exact customer service I would expect. The moment we were greeted by Nick I already felt comfortable. He’s upbeat, very knowledgeable and just all around a pleasure to work with! We found a bed we really liked and while I came in just looking for ideas and was probably going to order a “bed in a box” since our stair situation is tight, I completely changed my mind and wanted our business with Nick. He assured us that the delivery guys would do their best to get the mattress upstairs and that’s just what they did. The delivery experience was just as nice and came the very next day. Unfortunately the bed turned out entirely too soft and we had to make an exchange. Nick was at a store that was a bit too far from us so he recommended to go to the Maple Village store in York which was a night and day experience from our first one. I’m not here to leave a negative review but I will say that if we had gone there first we would have never bought and my suspiciousness of the big box mattress stores would have remained. We started with a relatively expensive bed and were looking to upgrade no matter the cost. The interaction there was EXTREMELY unprofessional in more ways than one. So enough of that, use the Maple Village store for checking out beds since they have the largest inventory but I wouldn’t recommended purchasing from them. Go find Nick and he will take care of you. We found the bed we wanted which was significantly more than the one we started with, I called Nick to let him know which one we chose and he had it all taken care of over the phone, easy peasy. Let me start out by saying that buying a mattress is liken a visit to the dentist to have a tooth filled without Novocain. However, sooner or later the purchase of a mattress becomes necessary. My wife and I were greeted by Barry and he listened to our needs before leading us to a choice of mattresses and bases. I did my research before entering the store which meant I had the ability to ask pertinent questions related to mattress construction, bases or frames, need for a box spring, and what would be a good fit for us. My wife and I knew beforehand an approximate budget amount that we had to stay within. This did not dissuade Barry in any way. He continued to answer question and offer his insight that might have affected our purchase. At no time did my wife or I feel rushed or put off. Barry was intent on giving us as much information as we would need to make an informed decision. After we decided on what we were going to purchase the sales order was inputted by Barry into the computer and he went over every line he was entering. After he returns my credit card, he for the second time went over every aspect of the purchase. If our outstanding experience would have stopped there, this would have gone beyond five stars.

Barry followed the delivery process from start to finish. I had what could have been a very difficult installation but used my truck bed as a way for the installers to hoist the bed on a little roof leading to our balcony where the bed would be brought through. The installers were outstanding and followed my instructions thoroughly. The base assembly and testing were done efficiently, and the packing was immediately taken care of. I am not one to write lengthy reviews, but this positive experience warranted it. Now if only there were a car salesperson like Barry. That would be like finding a needle...
