This place used to be much better years ago. I've visited this place many times over the years & I would have given this place 5 stars then, but not now. About a year ago they began to use lower grade ground beef in their enchiladas which was the first turn off. I then switched to their chicken products which are much better. (because of their chicken products & their chips I gave them 2 stars) Many times we've gone here the service has not been very good. The waiters/waitresses would mess up the order & not really care that they did so. There are a few workers here that make you feel like they'd rather you'd not be there bothering them.
The last time we were here was just 3 weeks ago around the middle of October 2014 & will be THE last time. My wife & I were purposely trying to keep our bill around $15, so we specifically ordered from the menu what we wanted. The waiter never wrote down our order, tried to relate our order by memory to the cooks, so my wife's meal went from a $5 item to a $10 dinner. The waiter never came back to give us refills on our drinks. When we got to the counter to pay, our bill which was already at $21 went to $24 because of the person at the counter rang up the bill wrong. At this point I just left it go because I knew this was the last time we'd be back.
Save yourself the trouble & just go somewhere else!! (unless, of course, you like to be...
Read moreVery good Mexican food in an area that is overrun by sub-par Mexican food. It is true in Central America and it is true here as well, if you want to know if the food is good or not, try the beans. That's a hallmark of Mesoamerican cooking.
My wife had the veggie fajitas, essentially a scalding hot cast iron skillet piled high with peppers, onions, and the like. It smelled fantastic. As soon as it came to the table I thought, I hope she doesn't eat all of that because it is going to be a mean and lean omelet in the morning.
I had combo #29 from the pre-selected combos but with a substitution. The chicken enchilada was excellent- really enjoyed it. My substitution was a spinach and cheese enchilada. Spinach and cheese can be hard to find so I always order it almost by default. In this case, it did not disappoint, absolutely fantastic. The spinach and cheese was excellent, a little bit of onion was chopped in and gave a nice texture.
They have a full-service bar, Dos XX amber is on draft. Amber beer and Mexican food go hand and hand.
The prices are probably around $8 to $10 per entree, some are more, some are less. We had 2 entrees, shared a dessert, and 1 beer. The total was $30.
That brings me to my last point, the flan might be one of the best that I have had in...
Read moreThis has to have been the worst service I have ever had. Me and a co-worker who aren't from this area went here after deciding we wanted mexican. There weren't many cars in the parking lot, so we thought this would translate into quicker service. First mistake. We sat at the bar which was filthy from spilled food and drink that hadn't been cleaned up. We even asked for a bar towel so we could wipe it up, which we never received. My friend asked for a Dos Equis on tap and I requested the same. The bar maid proceeded to pour the first beer and then ask for our IDs. He produced his, and mine was in the truck. She then walked away from the bar. He proceeded to reach for his beer which was out of his grasp. He asked a member of the wait staff to pass it to him, which he just proceeded to walk back into the kitchen area. She reemerged and said that she couldn't serve us. I am 32 years young, but I certainly don't look anything under 25. OK, so I didn't have my ID, but my buddy had his, We promptly left and went to Guadalajara, which had the friendliest staff, and was much cleaner and appealing aesthetically. I wouldn't bother to give this place the...
