updated my review the next day to 2 stars overall after the owner reached out personally with confirmation of a refund and to express his apologies on behalf of his team
I called this evening (8-5-24) at about 9pm and placed a order for delivery because when i tried to do so online it wouldnt save the street number for my address. The associate who took my order told me it'd be about a 30 min eta which I then assumed at least 45 mins with cook time etc. After over an hour passed I called at 10:13 just to get an ETA because I knew they close at 10pm and another associate told me it was on its way. I waited another 20 mins and called multiple times and LVM to see if my order I already paid for was still coming and noone would answer the phone now. At about 1045 the driver finally called me letting me know he couldn't find my building because the associate who took my order didn't relay the information I gave him to the driver at all in regards to the building number and my apartment number. They also didn't send my full order and the driver offered to go to the store to get the drinks I was missing. The driver offering to do this ended up being the only highlight of the whole experience because he didn't have to go out of his way to do so. Although my salad was dropped when handing me the items and when I sat down to open the bag the container popped open due to him dropping the bag and now my salad is spilled inside the bag resulting in me having to throw majority of it away - the correct dressing for the Greek salad also wasn't sent and was instead replaced with ranch and Italian. Upon inspecting my pizza the crust is burnt and yet when I bite into it it tastes still undercooked and lacks flavor. How a pizza can be both burnt on the ends and still slightly doughy is mind blowing. At least the toppings (mushrooms, black olives, banana peppers) are fresh and also no canned mushrooms were used like other places. The cheese bread has "flavor" but leaves a weird after taste in my mouth and is now barely warm, like the pizza, because of how long I had to wait for my food. The blueberry cheesecake slice however is the only thing that was satisfying to eat.
Full transparency I just drove almost 20 hours straight home from Florida after a canceled flight yesterday due to the tropical storm/hurricane and all I wanted was food I didn't have to cook so I could just rest and instead regret even placing an order. This reminds me why I dont order from here because each time I have its never been a good experience ever. Last order was over a year ago in Feb 2023 according to Google and now i see why i never came back. Overall this was very disappointing in every way and I won't be ordering...
Read moreLife is full of surprises and I love the pleasant ones. I am a transplant to the Midwest hailing from New England. I have made some wonderful friends and acquaintances in the Ypsilanti area recently. At the beginning of November I happened to be a guest in a downtown restaurant which has yet to figure out its identity in the hospitality arena. I wouldn't say it cost a fortune but it was definitely overpriced lacking food quality while the appetizing patrons screamed to be heard as the brick walls bounced sound decibels to the Ohio Buckeye state line. A few weeks later I found myself at Issa's courtesy of a friend's recommendation. At long last fabulous Pizza in the midwest with incredible hospitality where you enter as a stranger but leave as a friend. The cost was below an anticipated budget. A very small dine-in area yet pleasingly efficient allowing personal conversation. My friend Brady (not Tom but damn I wish) preferred double cheese and I'm glad he talked me into it. Where else can you treat yourself to a medium sized hand tossed Little Italian pie for $7.99? That's unheard of in this economic era. The manager and owner Omar is a spectacular smart businessman offering his guests standards stemmed in excellence only. He exudes warmth and charisma. His wife Latisse runs a pretty good kitchen providing care for the ingredients as she wholeheartedly demonstrates care for the customer. You will note they sincerely desire for you to kick back and have a good time (not the kind of kick handed to Ohio State today). The lady who took our order was Michaela. She is a total delight and I loved the banter that she and I found ourselves engaged in. The summation of the experience was one fifth the cost of the brick walls down the street yet 10 times multiplied in terms of quality. I was informed I'm not allowed a return in my future as effervescent McKayla told me I have a lifetime ban because I wore an Ohio State sweatshirt. So sue me for hanging with winners. Lol. They can kick me out of the Wolverine temporary victory delusions all they want but that food demands I come back. See you!...
Read moreThis place and the very pleasant women that work there just won a spot not just on my dinner table but in my heart. U walk in and the kindness and the smiles on the beautiful people that work there warmed my heart on Avery sad and sick day I was having the pizza was so good and the ranch was totally drinkable for us ranch lovers u know what I mean 5* on the ranch alone! The prices are very low for theses days and best of all it's all HALAL! For those who are unaware Halal is a practice of clean and non animal cruelty way of food preparation so that u only taste the goodness of the meat and ingredients. And u really can tell the different and peace of mind know no animal suffered for your meal! I can't wait to go back and try some of there other options like the wings and cheesey bread and definitely The Blondie or maybe the brownies! Who am I kidding all of the above and beyond! If I had one negative it would have to be the temperature inside a little warm but a small building and big ovens...
