I was visiting my son in Detroit, and he recommended going to Ypsilanti and seeing the sites. We spent an afternoon walking the area and stopped in at the Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum. Small admission to get in and it was worth it. Friendly people, they let you tour the museum at your leisure and would answer any and all questions. Very extensive display of Corvairs and if you love these cars, you must stop and visit. I also enjoyed the GM automatic transmission display and was familiar with most of the models. Seeing the four, autographed last transmissions built in a massive factory that had been in operation since WWII building bombers, then cars, the automatic transmissions is heady stuff.
