This place is amazing! I met the chef Keith, who came to our table personally and I was very impressed. He told us about the history of the bar and the food, how long it took to come about and the origins of the food and why they do the fried chicken they way they do (DELICIOUS) and the different ingredients. The chicken is made with buttermilk and is chicken breast which is easy to make and mass produce. I had the Dagwood sandwich which is vegetarian. It is served on a sourdough bun but they were gracious enough to substitute it with lettuce for me( go to watch those carbs). I was super impressed with the amount and thickness of the avocados. Most restaurants give you chunks or slivers, not here! I had greens and coleslaw as my sides. The greens! OMG! Southern style!( as is the food style/menu). The coleslaw, meh, all we tasted was vinegar and mayo. That was the ONLY complaint( yall know I will keep it real and complain if it ain't right). The chef took note, he apologized and thanked us for our input, he said he's open to suggestions and will incorporate any that will improve the food. For example, we also had the Banana Foster(- the fire, codes and all) but when I tell yall my tastebuds was in heaven...I am not lying! It comes with vanilla ice cream and I suggested butter pecan, considering it is served with pecans. I've had it served this way before and it is sooooo good. Keith took the suggestion(now if he will do it? we will see :). ANYWAY! Everything about this place was EXCELLENCE! From the bar staff( hi Cindy) to the busses, all friendly and clean! Well everyone, I can continue but I've run out of space 🙃. Hope to see some of yall at this place! And remember.. Enjoy your food, your events, and yourselves when you visit theses places, and pass it along. ENJOY! And be safe my friends. I AM TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THE...
Read moreUsually a really good time here with no issues but today me and my sister came in and sat down at the bar due to the 40 minute wait for a table outside or inside even though there were multiple different open booths and outside seating open for over 10 minutes…… After we sat there for about 10 minutes we were given our food and drink menus about another 10 minutes later we were asked about drinks my sister who is underage ordered a water then I ordered a margarita the bartender asked for my Id and I HAPPILY gave it to him, he then looked at my sister and took my Id and held it up against the light. He then proceeded to walk from behind the bar and stand next to me and say I’m not taking your ID I just have to go check it by the book so I looked at him funny and said ok, about another 10 minutes later, still no liquid whatsoever to quench my thirst (It’s been 30 minutes atp) he comes back and says, unfortunately, he doesn’t feel comfortable serving me alcohol I asked him why and he started talking about some encryptions a On my license I said ok I’m not gonna argue with you but I have been here over two dozen times and drank peacefully over half of those times and been served by multiple different bartenders with no problem whatsoever so for me to come in this time accompanied by my under aged sister it seemed as if he was taking that to make me seem underage myself. After that he comes up to me again and goes I don’t know if it is fake but if it is, it’s definitely a really good one. When I tell you my jaw dropped like sir are you for real? Definitely will not be back ever again, even though this was one of my top favorite places to...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place. The menu was awesome, the place looked up to date and trendy, butttttt, the food was just not good. It is paid parking (on the street, but not on Sunday). My girlfriends and I had a reservation for right when they opened, got us seated right away, but our table had a weird wooden architectural feature next to it which made it hard to get in one of the seats. Our server was super nice and charismatic, but he told us he’s typically a bartender which explains why he forgot to put our order in and it took over an hour to get our food. Which also wasn’t too big of a deal since my girls and I were catching up after not seeing each other for months! Now the food, I got the Bananas Foster French Toast, it was not what I expected at all. It was dry and pretty flavorless. I expected a sugar explosion, but nope, bland, not enough sauce or sugar. I got a side of bacon and it was the fatty chewy kind, yuck. My friend got the chicken and waffles and said it tasted like jerky, but the waffle was good. Other friend got the Country Skillet and said it was good and not spicy at all, which she was happy about. The other friend got fried chicken with collard greens and mac and cheese, which she said was great, said the Mac and cheese was very cheesy. The atmosphere was really cool and we saw an Amtrak train go by, but honestly, super bummed the food didn’t live up to my...
