Hyperion is a really nice coffee spot in Ypsi.

The vibe inside really suits the young crowd in Ypsilanti, and the location in the main stretch of town is great! There are a number of parking spots in the lot near the building, as well as the street parking on the main road if that's your bag as well.

Inside, you'll find a small menu, and that really streamlines the ordering process. The coffee is solid, and if you have any questions about any options/ items on the menu, the staff is happy to help!

Outside of ordering, you'll notice that seating inside the shop is very limited. There's one large communal table and a few seats along the sides of the building inside. There are some outdoor options as well, but in the winter especially, it can be "packed" (no empty seats) during what would normally be considered non-peak times.

It's also common to find that most people are on their own, working inside the shop... certainly not a problem -- unless you're trying to meet someone for coffee & to catch up. I found that it's a nice place to go and spend time, but I probably wouldn't schedule another coffee date there -- it's too much of a possibility that it'll be very quiet inside and that you'll be the only ones talking (I may or many not have be speaking from personal experience).

Overall a great coffee shop ! (just don't set up coffee...

Hyperion Coffee is a standout gem for coffee aficionados and casual drinkers alike. From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed by the rich aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans and the inviting, modern ambiance.

The menu at Hyperion Coffee offers a variety of expertly crafted beverages, from classic espresso drinks to innovative seasonal specials. What truly sets Hyperion Coffee apart is their dedication to quality. They source high-quality beans and roast them in-house, ensuring every cup is fresh and flavorful. The baristas are passionate and knowledgeable, always willing to share insights about their coffee selections and brewing methods.

In addition to their excellent coffee, Hyperion also offers a selection of pastries and light bites that complement their drinks perfectly. The atmosphere is cozy and conducive to both relaxation and productivity, making it an ideal spot for catching up with friends, studying, or working remotely.

Overall, Hyperion Coffee provides an outstanding coffee experience with top-notch beverages, a welcoming environment, and exceptional service. It's a must-visit for anyone in search of great coffee and a comfortable place to enjoy...

Super cute place and like some other reviews said, it's like you have found a hidden gem!

I was looking for a new coffee experience and this was just the place I needed! Upon arrival I was greeted and asked if ai had any questions, baristas were very friendly even while super busy and service was quick!

I ordered a cold brew and the coffee of the day. While I am normally an iced coffee drinker, the coffee of the day was what I continued to enjoy and needed to return for. Also, that vegan brownie was ssssoooo delicious!

About the environment, I appreciated being able to read about the individuals who were supplying the coffee beans from around the world. Personally I am a little bias as I have been abroad to Guatemala and visited La Finca where Campamento Alto is made, so it was a little piece of another place I call home. While indoor seating is provided, I preferred to go outside and sit at one of the picnic tables located in the little patio though their are garden chairs provided in a grassy area to view the train tracks (chain link fence separates in case you think of taking...

Ypsilanti location: Gorgeous old building with easy, free parking in the lot or street. In the summer their lawn is sprinkled with (plastic) Adirondack chairs for lounging out with coffee and wifi. Their single-origin coffee is on-point for the coffee connoisseur and their seasonal lattes are bomb. Light baked treats are offered. Two stars because of the service. I rarely visit anymore regardless of their product and location because the baristas are consistently cold, short and unfriendly; as if you’re inconveniencing them. I recommend trying Cafe Liv for coffee and much warmer hospitality.

Hyperion is my favorite place to get coffee, hands down. Whether you get one of the coffees of the day, or enjoy a nice Cortado, you will experience some of the best coffee you have ever tasted. Also, without the higher prices of some other places. Technically the first time I had Hyperion was in a stout brewed with their coffee, but the first time I had just their coffee was in the Downtown Ann Arbor location. I rate them both equally, each with their own charm. Enjoy! 😊
